SPEAKERS
Norah Rami
"Norah Rami is a freshman at Clements High School. She is part of her
school’s band and debate team. She has been recognized by National
Endowments for the Humanities for her documentaries on women in
the military. Norah is also the recipient of the NCWIT award. She
considers herself an activist and wants to work to make the world a
better place. Outside of school she enjoys writing and reading."
Lily Lam
"Lily Q. Lam is currently a 19-year old Vietnamese-American college
student in the occupational therapy assistant program at HCC
Coleman College of Health Sciences. She will graduate in May
2020 and hopes to continue advocating for special needs and mental
health. She was born in a small town in New York called Rochester
before moving down to Houston, Texas in 2008. Ever since then, Lily
has lived in the Fort Bend County for almost 10 years with her parents
and her 14-year old brother who is also a student in Fort Bend ISD."
Laura Jack
"Laura S. Jack is a Grief Recovery Specialist® and Mastery Level
Transformational Life Coach. She has helped people all over the world
move from surviving to thriving after loss. Laura’s mission is to
normalize grief and cultivate a culture of compassion."
5 DAY POST-CONFERENCE CHALLENGE
APPLY FOR STUDENT VOICES
"This network comprises a group of dedicated students from each of
the 11 high schools in FBISD. Membership is considered an honor
within the District as students will bring their own thoughts and
insights directly to the Superintendent, Board of Trustees and other
FBISD leaders. Three students will be selected to represent each
campus and are eligible to apply during their Freshman, Sophomore
and Junior years. Students will serve a one-year term and may be
eligible to apply for the following year."
