Middle high body with white skin (with reddish shade). Mangal is tamastic. He resides on war fields, places
with fire.

Energy, strength, activity, braveness, brothers and sisters (younger), real estates, youth, passions, enemies,
army, logic, body injury, accidents, quarrellings, acute diseases, injuries and surgeries, success in activities
(because he destroys all obstacles and enemies), frightening,  protecting friends with life and destroying
enemies (he is protector).

Favorable karakatvas:
Preciseness, dynamic, spontaneous, organization, young spirit, life energy, generosity, enthusiasm,

While Shukra represent emotions, emotional receptive, Mangal shows passions, emotional expressive.
Shukra means incoming emotions and ability to receive them, and Mangal means outgoing emotions and
ability of expressive them. Mangal is a male and Shukra is a female, they are positive and negative, active
and passive side of feelings. Shukra represents emotive sensibility which can be very refined. Otherwise,
Mangal is a graha of emotive induce which can become violent. Shukra is the benefic, and mangal is a
malefic side of emotions. Surya and Chanda are in general male and female principle (father and mother),
and Mangal and Shukra are that in specific way (as a man and woman). They are grahas of sexuality and
show the relation between sexes. This was observation to clear the difference between male and female
principles and kinds of energies. Mangal has a behavior as a man who wants to charm and possess woman,
and Surya is a great father and authority and has male energy in that way.
 
Mangal is a graha of strength, aggression, and personal ability to use that strength in life. Strong and
favorable Mangal has a similliar effects as a strong Surya: independence, strong will, self-confidence,
success in actions.
Weak Mangal (in shadbala) gives no motivation, no interesting, no strength and impossibility to finish started
action, less of male qualities.
Negative Mangal (in papa yoga, under affliction) gives rivalry, conflicts, domination, control, violence,
injuries, criminal tendentious, killing, and so on.
Mangal’s malefic nature is very often visible in the cases of violent death. He also can cause early death.
Mangal causes misunderstanding, conflicts and lawsuits. He shows selfish will and do not take care about
other people’s needs. Even favorable and strong Mangal can bring difficult in relations because he insists for
independence, and like Surya makes differences between “I” and others.
 
But, strong Mangal gives clear aims, and person knows exactly what he wants. Person knows who he really
is, and who are his friends and who are his enemies. Every association with collective interests is
represented by Mangal. That is the highest level of group marked as Mangal’s characteristic. In a lower
sense that is army. In the lowest sense that is criminal group.
Mangal’s energy means collective work with a lot of discipline. Mangal is a leader of the central energy
surrounded by organization of the other energies. He is the highest army leader. He brings the focus to direct
energy. His energy is necessary of and kind of physical actions. When is favorable, he gives skill and
argument speech. Favorable Mangal is necessary to politicians, scientists or lawyer to bee good. Mangal
gives skill in mechanic, machine science, engineering, mining, chemistry, electricity and so on.

when is conjoined with a malefic he is a malefic. Budh absorbs energies of the other grahas. Parashara
described him as a attractive, handsome, youngface and humorous. He is skilled in speaking and uses
polysemantic words. He is tall and has visible veins. He resides on sport fields, places of games and good
time. His guna is rajas, and he is mischievous as a child.
Budha has refined look, charming smile, youngface, intelligent, smart look and tactic in speech. He can make
a lot of friends with speech but also a lot of enemies too. He speaks in polysemantic symbols. He is joking all
the time and uses mimicry while he speaks.

levels. On a lower level he organizes and rules with material things, but on higher level he connects us with
inside poverty of mind. As a Guru is a higher or abstract mind, Budh is lower or concrete mind (intellectual).
He rules with names, titles and terms.
Budh rules with writing, education, counting, opinion, fast understanding, lot of interesting areas, easiness,
easy movable and expressions. He gives fast exchanging of ideas, information or money.
Bad positioned Budh gives problems with mind, nerves and lung. As a graha of trading he represents
exchanging of ideas, articles or money. He is not graham oe wealth but helps to make it, to organize and to
keep it. He longs to free communications and overcomes barriers between people. He is carry about
collective needs.  Afflicted Budh is going to exploit others. Budh is very important factor in choosing of
profession, because he shows our way of communication and exchanging information with others. Budh is

accumulated, as banks and treasures are. Guru is a Dhan karaka – signification for wealth, riches. He is
benefic and makes piece and harmonic in every place he come in. He is intelligent and sage. For the
difference of the Budh which represents informative intelligence, Guru is evolutive intelligence. Guru is
psychology Dhi shakti or truth intelligence.
He has dignified, maturity look. Also large body, round face, almondy hair and eyes. He express knowledge
and spirituality. He is born to be teacher, guru  (has ability to form opinion and way of thinking, and to give
advices to the others). He is middle high to high.

Guru is creative graha. Effects of material creativity of Guru are children, and immaterial creativity supported

melancholy and make another good experience from them. Guru is a graham of happiness, mercy, grace

intelligence, skill, she is tall and proportional body.

Shukra is known as a goddess of beauty and love. She shows sense for harmony and union. She is arts,
poetry, music, dancing. She is muse of human life, she gives sense for love and creative potential. She is
sensualism, refinedness and gentleness.  On a lower level she is searching for pleasures, comfort, luxuries,
senses and material enjoying. Shukra brings richness, but not just as an accumulated money. She gives
richness with style and elegancy. She represents precious stones, jewelry and other fine luxuries. She enjoy
to spend money to satisfy senses.
Afflicted Shukra has tendency to make useless activities, satisfy senses, show own beauty, flirt, and flatter
and so on. She can become enjoyment that waste energy and wear out personality. She can give pleasures
that destroy us. Because of that Shukra is seducer, not only in sexual, but general stimulation to waste
senses.
She is attractive, fascinating and she can catch us in a web as a spider and force to follow her aim of
satisfying. She is uncatchable and has control over us because we always long for her. Shukra takes us out
of own personality and after we came long for her we realize that the eternal bliss (Ananda) is only in pure
consciousness.  Because of that Shukra is egzalted in Meen rashi which is moksa and final realize.
Shukra is uor desire to good, beautiful and pure things. She is our devotion to the truthand pure divine love.
Her basic nature is good. And her pure side is visible through connection with the Guru, because he is lord
of Meen rashi and he indicates her favorable characteristics.
 
Shukra shows tendency to beauty things, to make harmonic. She rules with Devas and Asuras. Especially
she rules with Devas because they representative creation. The whole karma of creation is represented
through their activities. Shukra is higher, astral world and his light. She uncovers the beauty of gods and
Angels. That’s why she shows inspiration for artists. She also representative psychology and spiritual powers
to visualization and creativity of minds. On a higher level she is completely devotion to God (Bhakti).  In
Vedic mythology she was the teacher of asuras (demons) to defeat ther by charm and kindness. Her duty is
to teach stambled beings.  Doctors and spiritual teachers have a strong Shukra in horoscopes. Her power is
not only fascinating, but also motivate and stimulate. Strong (in shadbala) Shukra gives sexual energy which
can be transformed into astral and spiritual power. That is why she gives harism, power and strength to
personality. She affects inspiriting and gives enthusiasm, bit if she is afflicted she can hypnotize. She is like a
magician that owns subtle energies and can catch us with them. Strong Shukra is very good because she
shows capacity for loving, refined feelings, beautyness and pureness. She can even win on the Mangal
because her power is initiated by love. She brings vitality and happiness. But, it is very hard to overcome
afflicted Shukra, because of that we have to find the Shukra as a love of truth, not as a love of appearance.

He has dark and hostile appearance, icy look, thin, dark skin, accented muscles and bones, conservative
clothed, without jewelry and other decorative things, strict and discipline behavior, rasping voice and critically
speech which talks about inside peace and nonsense of material pleasures.  He is tall and looks older.
Basic characteristics:
Sadness and sorrow in life, spirituality, introspective minds, reliable person, long life, old age, death,

Shani is in traditional known as a hardest graham, he is a lord of malefics. Through centuries native was
scared of him as god of death, diseases, poverty and ugliness. Even Shani has better and highest kind of

how much we are identified with material things, and how much we are incapable to face with final sense of
human life. Shani shows limits and obstacles that we have to pass through on the road to eternity. Shani is
also a death which takes us out of these lives which is gate on entrance into eternity.
Shani is karaka for getting old. He is Khala – the time, during the time we coming weak, old. Afflicted Shani
gives getting old very early, makes depression and melancholic mood, self-immolation and worries. As the
graha that representatives nerves he can give paralyze, degeneracy and neurology disorders. Degenerative
diseases as an arthritis and cancer are very often Shani’s symbol of collapsing, of the end.

THE RAHU
He is male eunuch as a Shani, and has a similar behavior as him. His nature is similiar to Budh and
Shukra, guna is tamas from outside, rajas inside. Always brings bad things. He has no dominated dosha, but
brings some characteristics of vata. He is malefic and always affects so. In Sanskrit Rahu means demon.
Parashara described him as smoke colored, intelligent, resides in forest and looks horrible. 
He has unusual style, wears eccentric and specific clots. He is intelligent and with a keen look. He frightens
but also attracts and causes desires. He has very loud speech and uses unusual sentences. He is very tall
and has no manners.
Basic characteristics:
He is a shadow inside human minds, the strongest fears from deep past, uncontrolled reactions,
transformations, passion, dependence, unstable minds, rudeness, violence, unexpected and shocking
events, confusion, tragedies, psychological disturbances, epidemics, foreigners, extroverted behavior,
inconsistence,  greediness, chaos,
frustrations, bad habits like a drugs, alcohol), bad people.

Expansion, movable, dynamism, power and acuity, quick progression, intelligence, good estimating, strong

Rahu has a tendence to eclipse Chandra which representatives minds, and because of that Rahu can give 
eclipsed mind people.
Rahu is not religious, tells lies and his smoke makes confusion and hinder eyes to see the truth.
He is adharmic graha and has a tendence to destroy dharma and all things that Guru brings.
Rahu is responsible for psychological and neurological disturbances and obsessions with negative energies.
He is shadow of Chandra and can effect as a negative (unfavorable) Chandra. Rahu has a power to negate
and stop minds, and that is the reason why he gives illusions, hallucinations, trans, psychosis, paranoids and
inertia.
When Rahu is positive he can effect as a favorable Chandra. He can make harmony in life, to give popularity,

THE KETU
Ketu is very similar to Rahu, because he is also node. He has malefic nature too but not so
unfavorable as Rahu.  Ketu is a female eunuch. He behaves like Mangal, burns and gives pain, but has
internal nature like Guru, satvic.
Ketu has very unusual look, unusual speech and sudden reactions. He can perceive the things that other can
not. He is easy hiding and mysterious. He can easy make the secret but also to uncover it. He is illusionist,
passionate but hidden. He passes through degradations but also degrades the others.
Basic karakatvas:
Transcendence, secrecy, unexpected energy, inferiority, introspective, laziness, inertia,  slowness, spiritual
insight, mathematics, falls, neglectness, sudden and unexpected happenings, spies, enemies, injuries,
poisons, medications, criminal and punishments, hidden diseases and dangerous situations, suffer and
poverty. Like Mangal he gives intelligence; abstract knowledge. He gives power but if person abuse it, Ketu
takes it away very crudely. He heals but also kills very sudden. He removes obstacles through enlightment.
