Are the following statements true or false? Write TRUE or FALSE

Then rewrite the correct ones.
1. The CPU is placed outside the computer and is connected to it. FALSE

The CPU is placed inside the computer on a motherboard.

2. The CPU is the component inside your computer which is responsible for
processing data by executing commands from the program. TRUE
Yes , The CPU is the component inside your computer which is responsible for
processing data by executing commands from the program.

3. A program isn’t necessary to carry out a process in a computer. FALSE

A program is necessary to carry out a process in a computer

4. The role of the CPU is to move data from the outside world into the computer.
The role of the CPU is important as it determines how other associated materials should
be organized. It defines the architecture of the computer.
5. The CPU’s registry does all the calculations and logical operations.
The registry is a small amount of storage available as part of the processor.

Write about each of the below electronic components.

Input device
Input devices move data from the outside world into the computer. Examples of input devices
are the keyboard and mouse.

Main Memory
The main memory unit holds both data and instructions.

Output Devices
Output devices move results from inside the computer to the outside world. Example of output
devices are the monitor and printer.
Bus
All components are connected to one another by a collection of wires called a bus through which data travels within the
computer.

Central Processing unit and its role:

The part of a computer which is responsible for processing data is the Central Processing Unit
(CPU). It is considered to be the “brain of computer” as it executes commands from the
programs and determines the computer’s speed.
The role of the CPU is important as it determines how other associated materials should
be organized. It defines the architecture of the computer.

CPU Parts: The CPU consists of three parts that work together

ALU:
The ALU (Arithmetic and Logical Unit),which does all the calculations and logical operations .ALU is where
the calculation occurs.
ALU is where the CPU performs the arithmetic or logical operations. every task that your computer carries out
is completed here. as we say arithmetic and logical operation it means it deals with calculations. E.g. 1+2=3
and the logical part, which deals with any logical comparison eg.2>1

CU:
The CU which controls and decodes the data from the memory to the CPU.CU manages the various
components of the computer.cu is used to controls and monitors communication between the h/w attached to
the computer , it controls the input output of data, checks that signals have been delivered successfully, and
makes sure that data goes to the correct place at the correct time.

REGISTRY:
It is a small amount of storage available as part of the processor. registry also called the immediate access
store is where the CPU holds all the data and programs that is currently using.
