Comparison between Pakistan and China

About China:
China which is officially called People’s Republic of
China is the most populous state with population over
1.393 billion in 2018. The capital of china is Beijing with its
exercise jurisdiction over 22 provinces, five autonomous
regions, four direct- controlled municipalities. China is the
world’s second biggest country with covering area of 9.6
million square kilometers and also the third or fourth
largest by total area, depending on some measurements.
Official Language spoken in china is standard Chinese with
other regional languages such as Mongolian, Tibetan and
others. China is a strong country in terms of economy,
traditions, relations, customs, cultures and festivals. China
has great relations with Pakistan. China has helped
Pakistan in every chaos. Indeed, people of china are
friendly and respectable.

About Pakistan:

Pakistan which is officially called Islamic


republic of Pakistan is a popular country in Asia with
population 212.2 million in 2018 with its five provinces
named Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit and
Baluchistan. Pakistan is an important country in Asia
due to vast production of different crops and fruits. It
also provides Asian countries to ship goods through
highways. Pakistan’s National language is Urdu and
official language is English. Different other languages
are spoken in Pakistan depending on the region.
Pakistan has also commendable relations with China.
Religions of China:
Myths:
There are some Chinese mythologies that are found in the in Chinese and other
languages regarding the Chinese culture and Chinese state. These myths have meaning in
historical Chinese culture and different character.
1. Pangu is considered the first person who is a hairy gaint emerged from an egg. It is a
myth that he created the universe and died after 18000 years.
2. Fuxi and Nvwa are also human ancestors in Chinese myths. Fuxi was good at
civilization, musical instruments, and making food. Nvwa is considered to repair the heaven
after a huge collision in the universe.
Religions:
The main religion in china are Buddhism, Chinese folklore and many other with 200
million Muslim in china. Daoism, or Taoism, is a philosophy-religion that is at least 2,500 years
old. It originated from china and is now widely practiced in Korea. Tao is a force that makes
everything in the universe. Taoism believers believes to spend a simple life with harmony of
nature.

Religions of Pakistan:
In Islam, Allah is the unique and only creator of the universe and is equivalent to God in
other Abrahamic religions. Allah is the Arabic word referring to God in Abrahamic religions.
About Allah, “Praise is due to Allah whose worth cannot be described by speakers, whose
bounties cannot be counted by calculators and whose claim (to obedience) cannot be satisfied
by those who attempt to do so, whom the height of intellectual courage cannot appreciate, and
the diving’s of understanding cannot reach; He for whose description no limit has been laid
down, no eulogy exists, no time is ordained and no duration is fixed.
For a person to become a Muslim must have to strictly admire the oneness of Allah Almighty
and believe that Holy Prophet is the last messenger of Allah. He is the creator of every being in
this universe and he is the lord of the day of Judgment.
Allah created the universe to see the persons that obeys him. To them, he will reward
the heaven and those who denied his presence will suffer the pain in hell. So, Muslims prays
five times a day, fast a whole month of Ramadan without eating or drinking anything in a
specified time. The are responsibilities of every person in family and rights of other persons are
carefully observed in Islam.
In short, Islam is a beautiful and true religion that guides every person and gives a
message of peace. Other religion in Pakistan are Hindu, Sikh, Christians.
Traditional Festivals of china:
Boasting rich cultural meaning and a long history, traditional Chinese festivals compose
an important and brilliant part of Chinese culture. Following are some festivals that are
celebrated with heart and with entertainment:

1. The spring festival:


This is very important festival for the Chinese people because all the members of the
festival get together. All the members away go back to their home for about half month in the
spring season. The Spring Festival falls on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month, often one month
later than the Gregorian calendar.

2. The lantern festival:


The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually in February or
March in the Gregorian calendar. It is a festival with great significance. One emperor heard that
Buddhist monks would watch ‘Sarira’, or remains from the cremation of Buddha's body, and
light lanterns to worship Buddha on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, so he ordered to light
lanterns in the imperial palace and temples to show respect to Buddha on this day. Later, the
Buddhist rite developed into a grand festival among common people and its influence
expanded from the Central Plains to the whole of China.

3. The Dragon Boat Festival:


The 5th day of the 5th lunar month, has had a history of more than 2,000 years. It is
usually in June in the Gregorian calendar. Dragon boat racing is an indispensable part of the
festival, held all over the country. As the gun is fired, people will see racers in dragon-shaped
canoes pulling the oars harmoniously and hurriedly, accompanied by rapid drums, speeding
toward their destination.
Traditional Pakistan Festivals:
Some of the Islamic festivals celebrated in Pakistan are:

1. Eid al-Adha:
Eid al-Adha is a "Festival of the Sacrifice" also called "Bakr-Eid", is the second of two
Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide each year. It honors the willingness of Ibrahim to
sacrifice his son, as an act of submission to God's command, before God then intervened,
through his angel Gabriel and informs him that his sacrifice has already been accepted. The
meat from the sacrificed animal is preferred to be divided into family, needy and poor people.

2. Eid al-Fitr:
Eid al-Fitr is a "festival of breaking of the fast" is an important religious holiday
celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan. The day of Eid, falls on the
first day of the month of Shawwal. On this day, Elder people of the family give money to the
children of the family as a sign of prosperity and happiness.

3. Festival of the birth of the Prophet Mawlid


It is the called "Birth of the Prophet", is the observance of the birthday of the Islamic
Prophet Muhammad which is celebrated often on the 12th day of Rabi' al-awwal, the third
month in the Islamic calendar.

Comparison:
All the festivals of china are very different from Pakistan. Pakistani People celebrate
their religion according to Islam only. There are no other festivals than that. In china they
celebrate the festivals as a tradition and to welcome a new season like spring or as a happiness
for a new year.
In short, there is a big difference in festivals, but people of both countries have very
strong bond with each other.
Chinese Foods and Dishes:
Following are the most important and famous Chinese foods:
1. Sichuan Cuisine:
It has bold flavors, particularly the pungency and spiciness resulting from liberal use of
garlic and chili peppers, as well as the unique flavor of the Sichuan pepper.
2. Cantonese cuisine:
This cuisine comes from Guangdong province and is one of the Eight Culinary Traditions
of Chinese cuisine. Its prominence outside China is due to the large number of emigrants from
Guangdong. Chefs trained in Cantonese cuisine are highly sought after throughout China. When
Westerners speak of Chinese food, they usually refer to Cantonese cuisine.
3. Shangdong cuisine:
This is famous for its wide selection of material and use of different cooking methods.
The raw materials are mainly domestic animals and birds, Cantonese Cuisine Sichuan Cuisine,
25 sea food and vegetables.

Pakistan Food And Dishes:


1. Breakfast:
A typical Pakistani breakfast which is called Nashta consists of eggs, a slice of bread or parathas,
with tea or lassi, honey, butter, jam, shami kebab or nuts. Sometimes breakfast includes baked
goods like bakarkhani and rusks. During holidays and weekends, halwa poori and chickpeas are
sometimes eaten.
2. Lunch:
A typical Pakistani lunch consists of meat curry along with rice or a pile of roti. Daal
chawal is among the most commonly taken dishes at lunch. Breads such as roti or naan are
usually served for dinner but have become more common during the day so that rice may be
served for dinner. Popular lunch dishes may include aloo meat or any vegetable with mutton.
Chicken dishes like chicken karahi are also popular.
3. Dinner:
Dinner is considered the main meal of the day as the whole family gathers for the
occasion. Food which requires more preparation and which is more savoury are prepared.
Lentils are also a dinner time staple. These are served with roti or naan along with yogurt, pickle
and salad. The dinner may sometimes be followed by fresh fruit, or on festive occasions,
traditional desserts like kheer and gulab jamun.
