This was a kit that caught my eye as

truly captures the Vulcan in all its glory.
I’ve built this kit not only as a modelling

inspired me as a very young boy to have a

I like to model mechanical detail, so I began
with the engine. The two-cylinder bank parts

I applaud Eduard for going the extra mile.
Well what if you like the other items,
like etch, masks and decals? Well there are
options from Eduard. You can purchase the
items separately as you see fit. I love the
pre-painted etch fret and the masks, so I
had to review them anyhow, so I used them
on this kit. I’ve always wanted to build the

WEATHERING
First up was a panel wash with Burnt Umber
artist oils thinned with Turpenoid. Over that
I applied some dots of oil paint, namely
Titanium Buff and Titanium White on the
upper surfaces. This was then blended in and
streaked front to back on the wings and top
to bottom on the fuselage. Next came the
exhaust staining. German fuel at this stage
burned terribly and left a sooty residue even
after a short period of time. So here I used

products and set the exhaust
staining with a very soft
makeup brush. I started
out with Russian Earth
and streaked it back all
the way to the tail. Then
I refined some darker

I used also some other colours here and
there to add volume and interest. Once I was
happy, I needed to add some mud splatter
as seen on the photographs. Here I used Mig
