Remembering Bud Dajo and Bud Bagsak
By Ferdinand C. Llanes

About the article:

The battles of Bud Dajo in1906 and Bud Bagsak in 1913 were both part of the
pacification campaign of the Americans.

Analysis:
This article of Ferdinand Llanes simply remembering the events that marked to the
Muslim people of their struggle against the American colonial rule in their lands that shows
moro heroism, but was not known to many Filipinos. These two battles showed the valiant
Moro warriors in the battlefield despite of having the disadvantages in arms and military
training. It also showed the participation of their women and children in their role in the field of
war. The author also point out the idea that the two events was not considered as a battle
rather it was a bloody massacre of the town folks who defy and refuse the American supremacy
in their Land.
