Katipunan kartilya

a.Define Kartilya

The Kartilya ng Katipunan served as the guidebook for new members of the organization, which laid out

the group's rules and principles. The first edition of the Kartilya was written by Emilio Jacinto. Andrés

Bonifacio later wrote a revised Decalogue. The Decalogue, originally titled Katungkulang Gagawin ng

mga Z. Ll. B. (Duties of the Sons of the People), was never published because Bonifacio believed that

Jacinto's Kartilya was superior to what he had made.

b.Choose one from the rules in Kartilya that you like to explain

“To the honorable man, his word is sacred.”

If you want to be honored by others, you need to keep your word. Changing what you have

already said makes you less of a human. No one will ever trust your words because it can easily change.

c. What do you think is the historical background why your chosen rule was included in the Kartilya?

I think your words are so important in showing your personality. In joining the Katipunan, you

need to be trustworthy. If you join and said that you will be faithful in the organization then you change

what you have said when things change, then some people will might get hurt. Those people will never

honored or trust you again. That’s why I think it’s important to include that in the Kartilya.
