Just as the 3" trimester AY 2019-2020 has been conducted fully online, the Graduate School Comprehensive Examination will be administered in an online environment via MS Teams or preferred LMS of the college. 2. In general, the’Comprehensive Examination aims to assess student's knowledge, competency and/or expertise in his/her program of study. It typically covers all foundation and major courses and may include some pre-identified elective/cognate courses. While the delivery of the exam has changed, the purpose of the exam should remain the same. 3. The schedule for the comprehensive examination review is on 4-5 August 2020, while the administration of exam is on 6-7 August 2020. 4. The Comprehensive Examination is normally taken within four hours in the usual face-to-face proctored environment. However, given the technological challenges and the internet connectivity problems by our students, the strictly timed examination may not be the most prudent in an unproctored online setting. It is the college decision to determine the most judicious and effective manner with which their examination will be administered online based on the circumstances of their students. In the administration of the comprehensive examination, colleges must safeguard the authenticity and integrity of the examination. 5. Because colleges are given the flexibility to determine how they will administer their comprehensive examination in an online environment, orientation shall be carried by each college prior to the conduct of the review. The orientation may include but not limited to the following: a. b. ©. qd. purpose of the comprehensive examination coverage of the examination components / parts / number of questions mechanics and schedule of the release of questions and submission of answers e. rubrics for marking and grading f._ instructions on how to access MS Teams or the preferred LMS 6. Students are expected to adhere to the university's code of academic integrity and observe fundamental online decorum and propriety throughout the duration of the exam. 7. Students will be informed of the result of their comprehensive examination on or before 14 August 2020 via their contact number or email address. 8. Passers may at once enroll thesis/dissertation writing at the Registrar's Office. For your information and dissemination. DR. ERWIN P, LACANLALE Vice Presidentfor Academic Affairs For JMS
