1.Remote-control of the watertight door
In the wheelhouse control panel sets the selector switch of “door close”
and “separately close”、“local central”.
1.1 When the selector switch put in the “door close”model, watertight
doors can automatic close and the alarm horn sends out sound before closing
the door 5---10s. The indication light of the door keeps red in the
wheelhouse control panel;When the watertight door begins to close,the red
light flash; When the door is completely closed, the red light of door go
out and the green light illuminant , the alarm horn with lamp beside the
door stops working. The open course ends.
1.2 When the selector switch is in the “separately close”model, it can
close the corresponding watertight door separately by the way of the
wheelhouse control panel. The work course as 1.1.
In the “door close”and “separately close”model, after closing the
watertight door, it can be opened locally beside the door, but after locally
control, the door can be automatically closed after 40S.
1.3 When the selector switch in the wheelhouse control panel in the “local
central ” model, it can’t operate the watertight door in the
wheelhouse control panel. At other times the selector switch in the
wheelhouse control panel is in the “local central”model, only in the
special situation the selector switch is in the “door close”model.

2. Locally-control of the watertight door

2.1 Power drive operation
2.1.1 Beside the door,press the close button in the control Ind. button
box. When the watertight door begins to move, the alarm horn beside the
door begins to sound. When the door is closing, the red light flash; when
the door is completely closed, the door state indication light of the
control Ind. button box: the red light of door go out and the green light
illuminant. the alarm horn beside the door stops working. The close course
ends.
2.1.2 Beside the door,press the open button in the control Ind. button
box. When the watertight door begins to move, the alarm horn beside the
door begins to sound. When the door is opening, the green light flash; when
the door is completely open, the door state indication light of the control
Ind. button box: the green light of door go out and the red light illuminant.
the alarm horn beside the door keeps working. The open course ends.
If press the stop button when the door is moving,the door immediately
stops but the alarm and the indication keeps holding on.When control
locally , the indication light of the door in the wheelhouse control panel
keeps abreast of the local indicator.
2.2 Manual operation
2.2.1 Operate the hand-operated direction valve beside the door to the
position of “open door”,shake the hand pump,the door opened.The alarm

and indication same as the Power drive operation course.
2.2.2 Operate the hand-operated direction valve beside the door to the
position of “close door”,operate the hand pump,the door closed. The alarm
and indication same as the Power drive operation course.
Operate the hand pump unit,the watertight door can be fully closed or
opened in 90s.
The hand-operated direction valve normally to be fixed on the middle
position.

1 Product name and range of applicability：

1.1 This product-----horizontal sliding hydraulic watertight door is

used in the engine room to the shaft passage and below the main

deck.

1.2 This test program is suitable to the above hydraulic watertight

door release testing and version testing.

2 Reference standard：

2.1 CB/T3007-2011 Hydraulic Watertight Door

2.2 SOLAS Convention 2009 Amended

2.3 Hydraulic Watertight Door corporation standard

3 Test item and requirement：

3.1 Check the producing material’s physical chemistry performance

according to the requirements of marine material rules.

3.2 Check the appearance size of hydraulic watertight door, it

should according to the approved drawings, error should in the

range of the required tolerance.

3.3 Check the surface quality of the watertight door, the doorframe

and the doorleaf are weldment. The seam should glabrous, not

existing air cavity, crack, and included slag and undercut etc.

hydraulic pressure, the test pressure is the height of the hose

equaling to the height of the bulkhead deck, but the minimum

pressure is not more than 0.1MPa.

3.5 Hydraulic sliding watertight door should carry out the

hydraulic system test and the flexibility test. When the ship is

floating, it can close all the doors in 60s in the wheelhouse

control panel. It can close any a door by the manual operation

device in no more than 90s. When closing any a door P1 by

motor, the speed should equality. When the ship is floating,

the time from starting sliding to completely close, in any case,

is not less than 20s and not more than 40s.

3.6 Hydraulic sliding watertight door should carry out closing test

listing 15○.

Hydraulic sliding watertight door can close the doors, whether

by motor or by manual, when any other shipboard listing 15○.

At one time it should think over that any other side of the door

getting acting force equal to the lenitic pressure in the midline

of the door above the sill one meter.

Each hydraulic watertight door must set one separately manual

operation device. At both sides of the door it can be opened

and closed.

3.7 Hydraulic sliding watertight door should carry out the

open-close test of “control model”. When in “local control”

model, it should open and close any sides of doors locally.

When in “door close”model, it can close any opening doors

automatic. The “door close”model permit opening the door

locally. When coming away the control device, it can recluse

the door automatic. It can not remote opening any a door from

the control panel.

3.8 Open the power or manual device, it should test the indication

device of opening and closing door when closing the door. It

should test the alarm device when by power or manual.

The hydraulic sliding watertight door set the control device

using the power to open and close doors at the sides of the

door and set the opening and closing door device from the

general control panel using power in the wheelhouse. In the

remote operation position should set the indication institution

to indicate whether these doors are open or not.

Hydraulic sliding watertight door should set a sounding alarm

machine different to other alarm machines in this area. When

remote controlling closing the doors by power, the alarm

machine send out voice until the doors are completely closed

before sliding the door at least 5s but not more than 10s. When

sliding the doors the sounding alarm machine send out voice

only in the situation of manual remote control.

A.Installation manual of hydraulic watertight sliding door

1. General
The hydraulic sliding watertight door made in Wuxi Dongzhou Marine Fittings Co., Ltd.
is acceptable for the engine room to the shaft passage and below the main deck，and also
to the platform deck etc. places. The capability accords to the 2009SOLAS Convention
amended.
The watertight bulkhead sliding door consists of watertight door, EL-hydraulic unit,
hand operated pressure unit, EL-control box system(EL-control box, alarm indicate box,
wheelhouse control panel, position switches and button box beside the door) etc.

2. Installation of hydraulic sliding watertight door

2.1 The opening size of watertight bulkhead (to be checked before door
installation),the flatness of bulkhead opening is less than 3mm,to make the bulkhead flat
if more than 3mm.
2.2 hydraulic sliding watertight door shall be kept horizontal with the vessel when it is
fixed.The guide shall be fixed by guide fixed seat.
2.3 hydraulic sliding watertight door welding
2.3.1 Hydraulic sliding watertight door is to be fixed and closed on the bulkhead Four
angles of door are to be welded on the bulkhead,and followed the rest parts. Welding
deformation shall be noted during welding.
2.3.2 To avoid the continuous and long time welding as welding deformation needs to
be considered.Space welding for the front and the back shall be carried out,and door
shall be closed when welding in order to reduce welding deformation.
2.3.3 Gas cavity and dry joint shall be checked after welding .No water leakage is
allowed at the welding parts.

3. Installation of hydraulic system

3.1 Installation for electric and hand hydraulic pump units will be provided by
seller .Valve components have been already fitted on the pump units.
3.2 Electric, manual hydraulic pump group shall be fitted near doors without effecting
crews to be passed.(without effecting the maintenance and installation )
3.3 Please refer to 262WDF015B-YY-01 for pipe connection of hydraulic sliding
watertight door.Please note the nameplate of our company during pipe connection.

4.1 Control box and alarm box of hydraulic sliding watertight door with electric,
manual hydraulic pump groupAre to be assembled together.
4.2 Button box and alarm ring with light shall be fitted on both sides of door.Indicated
box on the upper deck shall be fitted near the hand pump of the upper deck.(one button
box and control box are to be connected together.)
4.3 Position switch shall be fitted with hydraulic sliding watertight door ,(there is the
installed hole in the hydraulic sliding watertight door)

After completing installation of door,the oil shall be filled to the oil tank,hydraulic pipe
connection is to be finished and the cables of electrical equipment are to be
connected,then debugging can be performed for doors.

B.Maintenance manual of hydraulic watertight sliding door

1. General
Debugging and maintenance are required after hydraulic sliding watertight doors
installed. Periodic maintenance of watertight doors can extend the life of doors.

2. Common faults and maintenance of hydraulic watertight sliding door

To check whether there are damaged components, whether the installation of watertight
doors are put in the right place in the presence first.To coordinate and solve problems
with shipyard timely if inconsistency. And then clean watertight doors and tanks..
2.1 To clean tanks before fueling ,and ensure there are no rusts and stains in the tanks.
To check the level gauge after filling up ,and whether there is oil leakage in the oil
outlet. Sealings and damaged parts shall be replaced timely if oil leakage found.
2.2 To shake hand pump ,check whether there is oil leakage for the external pipes after
no oil leakage found ,it shall be solved in time if oil leakage found.To check whether
there are rusts for the contact surface of watertight doors,it shall be solved in time if
abnormal found.To coat greases on the contact surface, working face of rubber strips
and guide pintles. And then check whether watertight doors can be closed in 90 seconds
and the pressure should not exceed 2.5Mpa when closing . Guide adjusting screws of
watertight doors shall be adjusted if exceeds, check the contact surface of doors by
feeler gauge.To put paper under rubber strip of watertight doors if deformation of door
frames is caused and can not be adjusted by the improper operation from the shipyard.
To check the hand pump in front of doors,behind doors and the upper deck whether it
works properly, should be used repeatedly as there is air in the pipes.
2.3 Power-on after the line is checked by the electrician , and open power switch in the
control box. ( The Motor changeover buttons with manual and automatic should be in
manual position). To loose adjusting screws of the relief valve and locking screws of
one-way valve , repeatedly press the starting button and check one-way valve if there is
oil emerged.The motor will be shown as counter rotation If there is no oil emerged and
the wiring is to be replaced.
2.4 To slowly increase relief valve pressure, check whether there is oil leakage for
pipe joints of the pressure gauge .Please solve it timely if oil leakage found. To note if
there is abnormal sound for the motor during the increasing process. Relief valve
pressure shall be increased to 7-7.5Mpa, and then reduced to 3Mpa.To adjust the
adjusting nuts of pressure controller for the low-pressure alarm(tight: pressure is high,

loose: pressure is low) to enable the alarm light flashing. Repeated several times .
2.5 To turn on change-over switch of the motor to automatic,adjust relief valve pressure
to 3Mpa, adjust low-pressure controller until the motor is started,and then increase the
pressure controller , keep the pressure to 7.5Mpa and stop. (Tight : pressure is high,
Loose: pressure is low). A multimeter can be used if adjustment does not work .To
adjust relief valve pressure to 3Mpa, unplug the wiring socket and adjust low-pressure
controller to be connected, repeated several times.The replacement will be needed if it
does not work. If ok ,then check if the wiring socket is broken.
2.6 To simulate low oil level alarm by the liquid level relay, (the motor will not be
started if low oil level alarm light flashes). To check whether the alarm indicated light is
on , check whether the connection is ok if the light is off, or check whether the light is
damaged by the multimeter .One light is alarmed only for all alarm lights, all general
faults alarm indicated lights at the wheelhouse shall be turned on while the buzzer is
sounded.
2.7 Press the closing button, check if the door is moving. Check if there is power
output and the electromagnetic valve is working. If both are good, watertight door is not
moved ,adjust the throttle valve, check if the electromagnetic valve is seizing. If all
above are good and watertight door is opened to the right place, then check if the
connection of position switch is wrong.(The speed cf watertight door is controlled
between 20-40 second by the throttle valve). Door opening as well. It should be
operated in front of door and behind door..
2.8 To open watertight door completely,put the pressure to 7Mpa,turn off the
power.Open and close watertight door for three times by the button
box(close-open-close).Check the pressure of accumulator to be 2.8Mpa(release
Nitrogen if high,fill Nitrogen if low) if it does not work.(Remove the pressure before
checking).The pressure of closing door is too high if still not work.Adjust the locking
device of watertight door asgain,ensure the watertight of doors.
2.9 Check if the indicated lights of opening and closing door of wheelhouse remote
plate has the same status with the control box of door, check the silencer, test lights and
dimming function.
2.10 Turn the changeover switch of wheelhouse remote plate tothe separate
closing,press the closing button which can close watertight door.Door is to be closed
after the alarms near watertight door send out 5-10 seconds,open it locally,the alarm is
still on going,door is to be closed after 5-10 seconds.
2.11 Check the alarm first,then check hand operation and the remote operation of

wheelhouse during testing in the presence.

3. Maintain
3.1 The door should carry out regular maintain. When assembly and clean the door’s
hydraulic pipes, it should according to CB1102.3、CB1102.4
3.2 Regular clean the surface of the door, especially the guide finger and should coat
the lubricating oil.
3.3 Regular check the seal rubber, it should not exist fray. If it has affected the
watertightness, it should change. The seal rubber should clean at other times and coat
lubricating oil.
3.4 Regular check the hydraulic pipe fitting, if it has petrol dripping, it should
maintain in time.
3.5 Regular check the joint, if it has loosening, it should maintain in time.
3.6 Write the maintain record of the door.
