RADIOGRAPHICTESTING(RT)
Radiographic testing involves the use of penetrating X or gamma
radiation to examine the parts and products for imperfections.
An X-ray machine or radioactive isotope is used as a source of
radiation. Radiation is directed through a part and on to the film.
When the film is developed, a shadowgraph is obtained that shows
the internal soundness of the part. Typical, types of discontinuities
that can be deleted by this method are cracks, incomplete fusion
incomplete penetration, misalignment, overlap, porosity,
root-concavity, undercut, burn-through excessive /inadequate
reinforcement, inclusions, etc.

ULTRASONICTESTING(UT)
Ultrasonic testing uses the transmission of
high frequency sound waves into a material
to detect imperfections within the material or
changes in material properties.The most
commonly used ultrasonic testing is pulse
echo, where in sound is introduce into the
test object and reflections are returned to a
receiver from internal imperfections and
geometrical surfaces of the part. This is
basically used for flaw detection and
evaluation, dimensional measurement,
material characterization and others. This
method requires lot of training and operator
should have full-fledged knowledge for interpretation of result. This testing is highly useful and an effective method for finding faults.

ULTRASONICTHICKNESSMEASUREMENT(UTG)
One of the most widespread NDT methods in mechanical equipment of industrial
installations for the characterization of erosion and deterioration is the thickness
measurements with the Ultrasonic method. Thickness measurement is achieved
by placing the UT probe on the object surface. Local or general reductions of
thickness can be located and measured with high precision. A rugged ultrasonic
thickness gauge determines sample thickness by measuring the amount of time
it takes for sound to traverse from the transducer through the material to the back
end of a part and back. The ultrasonic thickness gauge then calculates the data
based on the speed of the sound through the tested sample.

PENETRANTTESTING(PT)
Penetrant testing is a widely applied and low-cost inspection method used
to locate surface-breaking defects in all non-porous materials (metals,
plastics, or ceramics). The liquid penetrant testing is probably the most
widely used NDT Method. The test object or material is coated with a
visible or fluorescent dye solution. The excess dye is removed from the
surface, and then a developer is applied. The developer acts like a blotter.
It draws penetrant out of the imperfections which are open to the surface.
With visible dyes, the vivid color contrast between the penetrant and the
developer makes the bleed out easy to see.An Ultraviolet lamp is used to
make the bleed out fluoresce brightly, thus allowing the imperfection to be seen clearly

MAGNETICPARTICLETESTING(MPT)
Magnetic Particle testing is done by inducing a magnetic field in a
ferromagnetic material and dusting the surface with iron particles.Surface
imperfections will distort the magnetic field and concentrate the iron
particles, near the imperfections, thus indicating their presence.Magnetic
Particle Testing is used to detect surface & subsurface defects. Magnetic
Particle Testing can be performed only on ferromagnetic material.
Ferromagnetic means material which can be easily magnetized.
The process includes magnetizing the material with passing currents.
Later, a coat of iron powder is applied to the surface, which helps identify
cracks and possibility ofleakages in the material.
VISUALTESTING(VT)
Visual testing is the most commonly used test method in industry. Because most
test methods require that the operator look at the surface of the part being
inspected, visual inspection is inherent in most of the other test methods. As the
name implies, VT involves the visual observation of the surface of a test object to
evaluate the presence of surface discontinuities. It is considered as the oldest and
cheapest NDT method. It is also considered as one of the most important NDT
method and applicable at all stages of construction or manufacturing sequence.
In inspection of any engineering component, if visual inspection alone is found to
be sufficient to reveal the required information necessary for decision making, then
other NDT methods may no longer considered necessary.

RADIOGRAPHICFILMINTERPRETATION(RTFI)
The Course is designed for the certified level II RT Personnel. Various codes and
standards are included along with a number of radiographs containing natural
defects. (ASME Sec VIII, API 1104, AWS D1.1, ASME B16.34, ASME B31.3).Radiographic films
with natural and artificial discontinuities in welds are being provided for the
practical. Detailed Acceptance – Rejection criteria are being discussed during
the class for a thorough understanding of the subject.

EDDYCURRENTTESTING(ECT)
Eddy current testing (ECT) as a technique for testing finds its roots in electromagnetism.
Eddy currents were first observed by François Arago in 1824, but French physicist Léon
Foucault is credited with discovering them in 1855. ECT began largely as a result of the
English scientist Michael Faraday's discovery of electromagnetic induction in 1831.
Faraday discovered that when there is a closed path through which current can circulate
and a time-varying magnetic field passes through a conductor (or vice versa), an electric
current flows through this conductor. The two major applications of eddy current testing
are surface inspection and tubing inspections. Surface inspection is used extensively in
the aerospace industry, but also in the petrochemical industry. The technique is very sensitive
and can detect tight cracks. Surface inspection can be performed both on ferromagnetic
and non-ferromagnetic materials.

QA/QCTRAINING-(Piping,Welding&PaintingwithRelevantDocumentation)
Quality assurance (QA) is a way of preventing mistakes or defects in manufactured products and avoiding problems when
delivering solutions or services to customers.QA is applied to physical products in pre-production to verify what will be made
meets specifications and requirements, and during manufacturing production runs by validating lot samples meet specified
quality controls.
Quality control, or QC for short, is a process by which entities review the quality of all factors involved in production. Quality
control emphasizes testing of products to uncover defects and reporting to management who make the decision to allow or
deny product release, whereas quality assurance attempts to improve and stabilize production (and associated processes) to
avoid, or at least minimize, issues which led to the defects.
