68% of the volume is GOTS certified. One of the highest level standards,
including environmental criteria for textiles made from organic fibres.
It includes restricting the use of chemical substances and restrictions related
to social criteria.
Another 4% is OCS100 certified. A standard which guarantees the product

is made of 100% organic cotton.
Finally, OCS Blended standard applies to 28% of Stanley & Stella cotton that
contain a mix of organic cotton blended with other fabrics such as polyester,
natural fibres like linen, Lenzing Modal® or Tencel®.

Lenzing Modal®
Lenzing Modal® is a regenerated cellulose fibre made from sustainably
cultivated forest plantations of beech wood trees transformed into pulp and
fibre. Lenzing Modal® is soft touch for the skin and easy to wear, without the
need for ironing.
Tencel®
Tencel® is a fibre that comes from the pulp of trees (mainly eucalyptus) that are
grown on sustainably run farms certified by the Forest Stewardship Council
(FSC). The benefits of using Tencel® include the traceable and sustainable origin
of the wood pulp, and the use of non-toxic chemicals and solvents in the fibre
processing. In addition, Tencel® is a high-tenacity cellulose fibre, which gives high
strength properties to the fabric. This results in a silky soft, perfectly smooth feel
that gives a superb depth of colour.
Linen
Linen is one of the most ecological fibres. Produced with few fertilisers, using little
energy or water whilst needing the minimum amount of textile dyeing processes in
comparision with other fabrics. Linen does not harm nature.
Wool
Stanley & Stella brings the warmth of the wool and the softness and comfort of the
cotton that offer a real winter fabric while keeping the premium quality of the styles.
Recycled PET
The recycled polyester yarn comes from recycled PET bottles. 1kg of fabrics requires
35 bottles : for example, Stanley Breaks represents the equivalent of 7 PET bottles.

Fair Wear Foundation

Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is a non- governmental
organisation that aims at promoting legal and humane labour
conditions in the worldwide garment industry right through
the supply chain. As a FWF member, Stanley & Stella works
in cooperation with factories towards improving their working
conditions.
The eight standards at the heart of the FWF Code of Labour Practices
include: employment is freely chosen, no discrimination in employment,
reasonable working hours, no exploitation of child labour, freedom of
association and the right to collective bargaining, payment of a living wage,
safe and healthy working conditions and a legally binding employment
relationship.
