Hi everyone, this is Amalia, I am a Colombian forestry engineer and I am taking this course because I
want to improve my land ecosystems restoration skills. I know about ecology, conservation and
restoration but I would like to learn about business models and deep more on restoration in
degradation lands.

1. The land degradation challenge we are seeking to tackle is:

There is a great potential for restoring landscapes, nevertheless I consider an interesting challenge
the tropical dry forest restoration.

2. We want to work on this challenge because:

Due to its high degradation caused by the use change land and the climate change threat on this
ecosystem that is vulnerable currently, and, in which, great richness and biodiversity exits.

3. Our vision for this socio-ecological system is:

Our vision is to garantee the supply of goods and supplies into a sustainable framework, its
functionality, mainly giving habitat for species ecological important as the Jaguar.

4. Answering this key question enables us to work towards our vision:

This vision and course will allow us answer: how can I support the forest restoration and how it
produces economic benefits to the society?
