This was the baseline of information towards my first point. The U.N. Charter

was a really helpful source in making my website.

Clark, Mark W.. From the Danube to the Yalu . New York: Harper, 1954. Print. This

book was very helpful. It was a first-hand account on General Clark's experience

as General Ridgeway's successor in the Korean War, which occurred during the

time of the armistice signing.

copy of the cease-fire agreement. This definitely helped me understand the terms

of the agreement.

me understand the American's reasonings and viewpoint of the war.

Print. This book, mainly about the idea of unifying Korea, was extremely helpful
to my website, especially concerning my second point.

No Name. "Report of the Committee of Three on the Bases for a Cease-Fire in Korea.

January 2, 1951." University of Wisconsin Press 5.1 (1951): 233-242. Web. 18

Nov. 2010. This report was evidence to me about the earlier peace talks and

helped me understand why they abruptly broke off.

Parrot, Lindesay. "U.N. and Reds Are Meeting To Set Up Full Truce Talks." New York

Times 9 July 1953: 1+. Print. This article gave me a glimpse of what was going

on just days before the armistice was signed.

Ridgway, Matthew B.. The Korean war: How we met the challenge: How all-out Asian

war was averted: Why MacArthur was dismissed: Why today's war objectives

must be limited . [1st ed.] Garden City, N.Y.: Doubleday, 1967. Print.

Ridgway's first-hand account was a valuable source tat told me about the

hardships the U.N. army faced.

found this magazine article online. It provided me with many quotes pertaining

to the armistice.

Wars End Pt.3 - Korean War Historical Video- 휴전. U.S. Army. Youtube.A short part

of this clip is seen in the "Only a Pause in Fighting" page. The video gave me an

idea of additional outcomes of the Korean War, and what events led up to the

armistice.

explained the entire war and had an excellent timeline that I often referred to.

Halliday, Jon, and Bruce Cumings. Korea: the Unknown War. New York: Pantheon,

1988. Print. This was an excellent all-round book about the war. It helped me

understand the war's background and links to the Cold War.

Print. This book helped me grasp on to the concept of the Korean War. It told

me of it's main causes and effects.

Print. I got a very important quote to support my thesis from this book.

people died in the Korean War.


Sandler, Stanley. "Armistice Negotiations." The Korean War: an Encyclopedia. New

York: Garland Pub., 1995. 24-32. Print. This encyclopedia's section on the

armistice told of the Communist's method of negotiating,

Stein, R. Conrad. The Korean war: "The Forgotten War". Hillside, NJ, U.S.A.: Enslow

Publishers, 1994. Print. This book was a very valuable resource to me. In

addition to information on the entire war, it provided me with excellent quotes on

the war.

Stueck, William Whitney. Rethinking the Korean War: a New Diplomatic and Strategic

History. Princeton, NJ: Princeton UP, 2002. Print. Mr. Stueck's book helped me

understand some of the troubles and issues that caused the armistice to take a

long time to agree upon.

Tucker, Spencer, and Jinwung Kim. "Armistice Agreement." Encyclopedia of the Korean

War: a Political, Social, and Military History. Santa Barbara, CA: ABC-CLIO,

2000. 42-44. Print. This was a short excerpt that excellently summed up the

Korean War Armistice.
