Narrowing my choices:
Pathway 1: Sports Medicine Physician

Pros Cons
- It would combine two of my - Education requirements take over
favorite hobbies and interests: 10 years to complete, taking a lot of
Sports and Science time out of my life
- High paying job - Very hard to meet all the education
- I play sports so I would have a little requirements and enter into this
extra experience and knowledge on field of work
the topic - Expensive to apply for education
- I am a cooperative person and in programs leading to this pathway

- After completing education

different professions I can go into as
sports medicine is quite a broad
field of work
- Part of my job allows me to work

Pathway 2: Cardiologist

Pros
- Also a Science related job, which is
one of my interests
- I have always had an interest for the
functions and treatments of the
cardiovascular system so this is a
very good profession aligning with
what I love to learn about
- Well payed job
- You get to collaborate with other
specialists and workers, which is
Cons
- Education requirements take over
10 years to complete, taking a lot of
time out of my life
- This specific pathway/job has longer
hours than most other medical
fields of work, meaning I would lose
the work/life balance
- Due to the long hours, I would be
spending a lot of my time at work,
meaning I would probably have to
 one of my stronger skills - Many different books and resources
needed to study in this field
- Also a very expensive field to work
in
Does this pathway have more pros or cons?

Making a choice:

I think that this is the right pathway for me because after having an actual sports
medicine physicist do a presentation at my school, and talk to me about his life in that
profession, what he likes about it, and how it benefits his outside life, I knew that this
was the job for me. It matches up with 2 of my biggest passions and interests, science
and sports, and it correlate with many of the traits and transferrable skills that I have,
such as collaborative, compassionate, hardworking, and communication. At this point in
my life, I think that this pathway is the best fit for me because it includes almost
everything I love, and I also have all the resources and people necessary for me to
succeed in this pathway choice.
