“The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.” - B.B. King.
This by far is one of my favorite true to heart quotes! In life, we lose many things for many
different reasons. However, something we learn is in our heart and stays in our head and brain
forever. Especially when those learning experiences are meaningful and were acquired through
teachers who care about their students and their overall accomplishments.
With the current situation we are facing, most of us have had the need to use previously
learned skills and activate prior knowledge to build onto new skills and knowledge. Imagine that
someone somehow took, stoled, or removed our knowledge and intelligence that we have
acquired over the years through education and previous experiences. How would we have
These current events are experiences that we all will learn from and will use to best
accommodate our future learning. These experiences will be in our minds forever! It is essential
that educators be lifelong learners and motivators who model learning and encourage students to
In order to encourage our students to achieve their full potential, educators must be
diligent advocates for teaching and learning. Educators must work together and learn to walk in
their students shoes. We can not just assume that students are learning or that students are not
capable of learning. We can not be close minded towards any of our students and their success.
We as educators, must be open minded and open to diverse perspectives or situations, as well as
Our students should feel safe and comfortable in our classroom. We should provide and
teach lifelong learning experiences to our students! If these learning experiences are engaging,
fun, hand on, real world experiences and serve the purpose of learning, then our students will
have the opportunity of a learning experience that nobody will take away from them!
I believe it is important to welcome diversity in our schools and to learn from other
cultures and backgrounds. By allowing students to learn from other peers and from other
cultures, students will be able to travel to places without the need of going miles away. As a
future educator, I want to make sure that my students feel welcome in our classroom community
and feel safe. I want them to learn about their friends' culture in order to better be acquainted and
therefore, work collaboratively and together learn and engage in meaningful hands-on activities.
If students feel comfortable, welcomed, and respect each other's diverse backgrounds then
I have always shown empathy for ALL students. I believe you do not need to have had
either a great or a terrible school experience, in order to provide a great school experience. It is
all in your heart and the empathy you have towards others. Oftentimes, people are selfish and
maybe fed up with teaching. However, we should always remember that our students may only
have school to feel safe, and school may be the only place they look forward to being. Therefore,
it is our obligation to give it our 1000% at providing the safest and most fruitful learning
experiences for ALL students! If we as educators do not care, do not have empathy, or remember
our purpose (in this case the overall wellbeing and achievement of our students), then we should
