When did it begin ?
It is an Anglo -American coinage
1956:at the University of Edinburg school of applied linguistic

1967:The British Association of Applied linguistics (BAAL) was
formally established 1960’s_ 1970’s: was about language
teaching.

The term applied linguistic refers to the field that aims to
seek out identify and provide solution to problems that result
from language.
It covers variety of fields including language acquisition
language teaching literary ,studies, gender studies , discourse
analysis , translation studies , lexicographic and forensic
linguistic.
Applied linguistic can also be defined as empirical investigation
of problems in which language is a central issue.aAs a branch of
linguistic it’s primary focus is on language and it’s appli.

It helps people to investigate and understand the facts of
language use ,to organize and formalize why they know and to
subject their knowledge to criteria analysis.The spread of
English as natural and beneficial is made possible by applied
linguistic.Applied linguistic states that one way to holding
diverse groups of people together is to develop l

It is the imposition of one language on speakers of other
languages.It is also known as linguistic dominance linguistic
nationalism and language imperialism.
