Mayapur Jahnu-dvipa  (Bhadravan of Braja)

Bhisma Tila. On top of that hill I shall stay and perform my worship of the Lord

This pastime place, situated two miles south-east of Nand Ghat and across the Yamuna, is
one of the places where Shri Krishna and Shri Balram go to graze the cows. The forest of
Bhadravan is named after Shri Balbhadra (Balram). Places of darsan here are Bhadra Sarovar
and Gocharan Sthal
(TITLE)
Bhadravana Leaving Surukhuru in the morning, they came to Bhadravana. In Ädivaräha
Puräëa it is written that whoever goes to Bhadravana, the sixth forest, becomes a single-
minded devotee of Lord Kåñëa. By the grace of this forest he goes to the heaven planets.

Bhäëòéravana Bhäëòéravana It was here that Räma and Kåñëa used to play various games
with Their friends.

In the Ädi-varäha Puräëa it is stated: “The eleventh forest is Bhäëòéravana. It is a beautiful

place which is dear to the yogis. Simply glancing at the forest saves one from taking another
birth. Getting darçana of Väsudeva in this forest, the best forest of all, also saves one from
another birth. Any person who takes bath here, fasts and controls his senses becomes freed
from all sins and goes to Indraloka.”

In Bhäëòéravana, Kåñëa and His friends, after playing, enjoyed various foods while sitting in
the shade. This town is therefore named Chäheré after this pastime of the Lord. [The name
comes from chäyä meaning shade].
