UNEMPLOYMENT

The United States unemployment rate accumulated to 3.6 % in Oct 2019 from 3.5 % and within the
previous month in line with market expectations. Over the month, the amount of jobless persons
enhanced by 86,000.

Among the major employee groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (3.2 percent), adult
women (3.2 percent), teenagers (12.3 percent), Whites (3.2 percent), Blacks (5.4 percent), Asians
(2.9 percent), and Hispanics (4.1 percent) showed very little or no modification in Oct.

The number of long jobless (those jobless for twenty seven weeks or more) was primarily unchanged
at 1.3 million in Oct and accounted for 21.5 % of the unemployed.

The labor participation rate was little modified at 63.3 % in Oct, and also the employment population
ratio at 61.0 percent. each measures were up by 0.4 Percentage over the year.

The number of persons employed half time for economic reasons, at 4.4 million, modified very little
in Oct. These people, who would have most well-liked full-time employment, were working half time
as their hours had been reduced or they were unable to seek out regular jobs.

In October, 1.2 million persons were marginally connected to the labor, down by 262,000 from a
year earlier. (Data aren't seasonally adjusted.) These people weren't within the labor force, wanted
and were out there for work, and had sought for employment someday within the previous twelve
months. They weren't counted as unemployed as they had not looked for work in the four weeks
preceding the survey.

Among the marginally attached, there have been 341,000 discouraged employees in Oct, down by
165,000 from a year earlier. (Data aren't seasonally adjusted.) Discouraged employees are persons
not presently trying to find work as they believe no jobs are offered for them. The remaining 888,000
persons marginally connected to the labor in Oct had not searched for work for reasons like college
attendance or family responsibilities.
