European Standard EN ISO 8031 : 1997 has the status of a DIN Standard.

National foreword
This standard has been published in accordance with a decision taken by CEN/TC 218 to adopt, without alteration,
International Standard ISO 8031 as a European Standard.
The responsible German body involved in its preparation was the Normenausschuß Kautschuktechnik (Rubber Technol-
ogy Standards Committee).
DIN 53500 is the standard corresponding to International Standard ISO 471.

Amendments
In comparison with DIN EN 28031, April 1993 edition, the standard has been editorially amended.

Foreword
International Standard
ISO 8031 : 1993 Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies – Determination of electrical resistance,
which was prepared by ISO/TC 45 ‘Rubber and rubber products’ of the International Organization for Standardization, has
been adopted by Technical Committee CEN/TC 218 ‘Rubber and plastics hoses and hose assemblies’, the Secretariat of
which is held by BSI, as a European Standard.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by
endorsement, and conflicting national standards withdrawn, by December 1997 at the latest.
In accordance with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following countries
are bound to implement this European Standard:
Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg,
the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
