3rd TERM SCHOOL YEAR 2019- 2020

I. INSTITUTION

II. COLLEGE OF PSYCHOLOGY AND EDUCATION

VISION: Strengthen the science and practice of psychology and education at the local, regional, and national levels through our scholarly endeavors, disciple relevant
services to community, and a rigorous program of classroom courses and experiential learning opportunities consistent with the Christian ideals of faith,
service, and community.

MISSION: The College of St. John- Roxas department of Psychology and Education is committed to provide an energetic learning environment that will allow faculty
and students to engage in the science and practice of psychology.
 Increase psychological knowledge and apply such understanding to research and practice.
 Improve critical thinking in the understanding and application of psychological theories and concepts by always considering Filipino culture,
traditions, beliefs and attitudes.
 Establish research methodology and statistical skills to produce high- quality, culturally relevant research.
 Enhance the articulation of psychological knowledge in writing and speaking.
 Inculcate ethical behavior and practice consistent with the core values of CSJR.
 Become aware of psychological and mental health needs in the community and explore ways to address them.

 Establish a departmental culture of academic integrity and rigorousness.
 Require the integration of knowledge and practice in all major psychology courses.

 Develop programs for the local community’s needs for psychology- related training, research and consultation.

III. COURSE DESCRIPTION

The course focuses on the philosophy and methods of science focusing particularly on assessment and testing in the investigation of problems and issues in
psychology including ethical considerations in the conduct of psychological testing and assessment. The student is expected to design and conduct test construction in
psychology, write research reports, and present and defend the findings of the test construction.

 Understand the principles of psychological assessment.
 Understand the basic concepts used in the field of psychological assessment.
 Understand and apply the ethical conducts of research in the field of psychological assessment and testing.
 Understand/ avoid scientific fraud and plagiarism.
 Become skilled at ethical considerations concerning the field of assessment and testing.
 Write a research paper aligned with the standards of APA.
