CENTRAL IDEA:
The author wants to describe that Pakistani media has been facing curbs
since the creation of Pakistan and freedom of Pakistani media through
different regimes. The media in Pakistan has never been free and it has
always paid the price for whatever freedom it enjoys. He wants to say that
there are no difference in dictatorship and democracy when both are
pressurized the media. Because our media is not free for anything which is
not according to our constitution. The author describe the era of PTI which
are not allowing the media for showing anything exactly which was done by
many personalities like Parvez Musharif, Bhutto and Ayub khan in their
eras. Media should be free for anything and they can feel freedom and do
not pressurized by political parties. He said that in different regimes, the
dictators arrested the different journalists whose were against their rules.
Now a days, government is torturing the media through different ways like
financially and through their powers. The author says that the PTI was
agreed with media when they were in opposition but they restrict the media
freedom by themselves now a days. The author describe the PTI
government, which is currently hiding behind the shield of national interest,
saving money and highlighting the negativity of the press. The topic which
is written by the author criticized on our media freedom and says that
media always should keep an eye on country conditions without any
hesitation.
