Critical reflections on the readings.

Following the story of American public education, narrates the relationship between 1980 education system

to the current systems in form of different aspects. The story shows the development of America’s public

education systems from the ones of the colonial periods to the current present systems. The text modifies the

ideal of early public education and also continues to look at both challenges and experiments in the classes

today (mondele, Bernard, et’l,. 2004). The ideal of establishing the damage caused by the colonial schooling

systems to the present methods looked to be a good idea since the school provided clear information.

However, the questions remain unclear whether the suggested methods to improve current education

systems will be put in place. Furthermore, it remains unclear on when these methods will start and how

effective they will be in improving the education system.

Education being the most key to success as believed by most people in the world, Suli Breaks believes that it is

someone’s responsibility to identify their own motives and talents. Breaks argues that, most youth should

enhance their talents so as to benefit from the schooling system. It is believed that most of the richest people

in the world did not acquire the highest level of education in any institution. However, one cannot skip the

knowledge and skills acquired from schooling. So, with that in mind youth are encouraged to always choose

from their talents and make a better decision whether to attain full schooling or go for half education.

Similarly, questions remain unclear on how sure a drop out student will be successful in future.

Finally, students mostly in America have mathematical and English academic standards they always follow in

order to perform better at the end of each grade. However, these standards look to be more demanding

because increase in the standards will need an increase in the capacity building and support. Increase in one

and without an increase in other, schools are more likely not to meet the required standards. Hence, raising

the questions of how the government and schools will maintain to increase support with standards.

Many scholars have up with a discussion on how different education systems used have affected the united

states. Most of them are not meeting the standards hence falling behind other developed countries.

According to most people in America, believe that their children underperform and give few hours to school.

They also believe that the teachers in United states do no get the same level of respect as teachers as it is in

other developing countries. Whereas other aspects would use improvements in the system of education

within America, instead systems rank more competitively within the community than what the public think.

It is always good for one to be prepared for the future’s economy. All countries need to develop quickly in

different aspects like the technology in science, agriculture advancements and so on. All these need a very

versed education system equipped with requirements to ensure progress in schooling. Therefore, for one to

meet advancements in any field, schools must be reformed to meet the standards.

Most locals believe in developments to be part of the successful economic growth in any country. Local

concerns are most likely to be hidden from the search for global competitiveness within their respective

Therefore, most countries make their plans and decisions without any involvement of the local individual

concerns.

Basically, looking back in the 1980’s, one should be sure that any effort implemented to the blanket labeling

should only be partially successful. This however, did create a more dynamic educational landscape since the

national discussions about the education shifted. Similarly, educational policies both at the state, federal and

local levels reflected new and flesh guidelines.

Schools equipping the youth to thrive in a culturally diverse society is increasing according to the 2014 United

States report. In this rising culturally diverse society, it is very much important than ever for the teachers to

corporate with these culturally diverse instructions in their classrooms. This will help both the elementary

schools, high schools and middle-class pupils. Increase in diversity will also include pupils or students from

different economic status, religion and language spoken.

Under the principle of the no child left behind, it should be noted that children have got that first freedom of

access to education. It is clear that children between ages of four or five must attend schooling and be

provided with enough requirements. Students have mathematical and English standards they follow so as to

perform better in each grade. This is also a good idea since students are well equipped with mathematical

concepts and English skills in both writing and spoken.

The students in the United States have access to education through private, public or home schooling.

Following the education standards put by the state government, most of the k-12 schooling did not change

instead there was a change in the enrolment of children in different grades. For example, in about 87.0% in

the year of 2013, children below higher education attended the so called state funded public schools. While

on the other hand, 10.0% went for private funded schools and lastly, only 3.0% were home based schools. The

emphasis on the accountability has tried eliminating the perennially failing institutions since they are required

to provide a report describing their expenditure annually.

Currently, the school reforms have a bigger potential to address the deep structural problems that plague

American education. America today has improved the education system following the Obama vision of 2009.

The vision was made to make America have the best education system in the world. Fundamentally, being a

teacher in these times means that teacher as a professional may not be enough to contribute to someone’s

economic development. Hence there is need to diversify in the professionalism to meet the current economic

shifts
