1. Introduction

An online car rental system is an online system through which customers can
view available cars, register, view profiles, and book cars. A new up and
coming car rental service is wishing to have a user interface that will allow their
customers to view the models, descriptions, and prices of different cars
available. The administrator will also be able to log in through the same form
but can add/remove new car rentals, change prices, and so on. Potential
customers should be able to view all the cars available to rent even without
logging in as well as rent without having an account.

2. Problem Statement

A car rental is a vehicle that can be used temporarily for a fee during a specified
period. Getting a rental car helps people get around despite the fact they do not
have access to their vehicle or don't own a vehicle at all. The individual who
needs a car must contact a rental car company and contract out for a vehicle.
This system increases customer retention and simplify vehicle and staff
management.

3. Aims & Objectives

 To produce a web-based system that allow customer to register and to

reserve car online and for the company to effectively manage their car
rental business.
 To ease customer’s task whenever they need to rent a car.

4. Process

 At first, we are planning to make the use case diagrams.

 Then we will design the database. To do this, we have to design the ER
diagram and then we will design the schema of the database.
 After that we will make the class diagrams.
 After the class diagrams are ready, we will focus on developing the sub
systems. Unit testing will be done during the development phase.
 Integration testing and functional testing will be done.
 After that, we will submit the project after the testing has been finished
successfully.

We are planning to use the following technical features to implement the

system.

 HTML & CSS

 MySQL database
 PHP
 Bootstrap Framework
 Laravel Framework
 GitHub API

6. Benefits

i. This online car rental solution is fully functional and flexible.

ii. It is very easy to use.
iii. This online car rental system helps in back office administration by
streamlining and standardizing the procedures.
iv. It saves a lot of time, money and labor.
v. Eco-friendly: The monitoring of the vehicle activity and the overall
business becomes easy and includes the least of paper work.
vi. The software acts as an office that is open 24/7.
vii. It increases the efficiency of the management at offering quality services
to the customers.
viii. It provides custom features development and support with the software.
