Definition of Disaster- Any catastrophe, mishap, calamity or of grave occurrence in any are due to
natural or man made causes due to accident ,negligence which causes substantial loss of life, human
suffering , damage to, destruction, degradation of environment and is of such nature and magnitude
which is beyond the coping ability of the community of affected area

DISASTER MANAGEMENT- It is CONTINUOUS and integrated Process of POCI- i. e.

planning,organizing,coordinating,implementing of

PMCPPAER

PREVENTION, MITIGATION OR REDUCTION OF RISK, CAPACITY BUILDING, PREPAREDNESS, PROMPT

RESPONSE, ASSESSING SEVERITY ,EVACUATION RESCUE RELIEF, REHABILITATION RECONSTRUCTION.

NDMA- CHAIRPERSON -------- PM OF INDIA + 9 OTHER MEMBERS

NEC- National Executive committee assists NDMA-

Chairperson ------SECY

SDMA- Chairperson -CM OF STATE + 8 other members ;

Delhi SDMA Chairman- LG not CM (Vice chairperson ) other UTs chairperson - CM

SEC- Chief secretary + 4 other State Secy

SEC shall implement National and State Disaster plan in State

DDMA- Chairman DM or DC + 7 members

Elected representative of local body(Co Chair), CEO of district, SP , CMO , 2 other district officers .

NDRF administered by NEC NDMF administered by NDMA

Similarly SDRF administered by SEC SDMF administered by SDMA

DDRF and DDMF administered by DDMA.
