FRESCO
•done in plasters on walls or ceilings

•They are painted on a thin layer of wet plaster,


called “intonaco”.

•the pigments sink into this layer so that the


plaster itself becomes the medium holding
them

TEMPERA
•Also known as “egg tempera”

•a permanent fast drying painting medium


consisting of colored pigment mixed with a
water-soluble binder medium

•They act as supporting medium for paints
since oil easily absorb color pigments.

facilitates a realistic style.
