RFID & GSM Automated Toll System

This paper presents an automated toll collection and check-post system using RFID and GSM modules to reduce traffic jams, waiting times, and fuel consumption at toll plazas and check posts. The system uses an RFID tag attached to each vehicle to identify it, and a GSM module to process toll payments electronically. It consists of an Arduino controller interfaced with an RFID reader, servo motor, GSM module, and power supply. The system automatically verifies vehicles and collects tolls, eliminating manual checks and reducing congestion.

Automatic Check-Post and Fast Track Toll System Using RFID

and GSM Module with Security System

This paper present Automated Toll collection and Check-Post system using Radio Frequency
Identification (RFID) and Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) module .as we
know that the present situation vehicle checking is huge trouble to the people with regard to
license, insurance and RC book. It brings on traffic bother and also in toll gate system traffic jam
occurs, time and fuel absorption is elongated. And to reduce tis problem this system is designed
by using this system we can solve this problem. This paper associate vehicle particulars like
unique ID is saved in an RFID tag which is attached in the vehicle. ATmega328 Arduino
controller has to be associated with a GSM network. This paper proposes an E-Toll payment
which is very flexible that automates the verification process of vehicles pass by. Because of
increasing vehicles once a year, the time wasted on waiting at the check post/toll gate is ever
increasing. Automatic check post and E-Toll will eliminates the above struggle. While coming to
design part it include both hardware and software. Here we are using RFID Reader – EM-18
Reader Module and then the GSM module is SIM 800 is used. Working part: The system
contains following modules:
o ATmega328 Arduino Controller
o Servo Motor
o SIM800 GSM Module
o Power Supply Unit
o Interfacing Unit.
The ATmega328 Arduino Controller is a 28 pin, 32kB of ISP flash memory, 1kB EEPROM, 2kB
SRAM, 32 natural working registers, 6-channel 10-bit A/D converter and 23 regular purpose I/O
lines. The 9g SG 90 type Micro Servo Motor module is used in this method SIM800 GSM
Module:This Communication device is designed for global market SIM800 module is used for the
power supply for supplying from 3.5V to 4.5V. Interfacing Unit: USB cable that gives the supply
to Arduino controller and it is used to dump the program to the controller. RFID uses radio
waves to identify and track [Link] that hardware part while software is to collect the real-
time data and transform data to the information centre for the application purposes. This system
can reduce the real time problem of checking process at check posts and to reduce the waiting
time and fuel consumption of every vehicle in the toll plaza because of automatic checking and
automatic detection of amount. It enhances the security of the vehicle. This method is very useful
for locating and not to operate the vehicle by the third person in real life.
