Poetrv Proiect-final piece checklist

Poetry is due January zL't,Z:OIL (no excuses or l grade down!)

o Select a theme for your poetry and writing focus(remember poetry is written with a
purpose, it is meaningful, it sends a strong message)
o Collect poems from other authors that inspire you and that match your poetry theme on

o Continue to write poetry on a specific theme-all poems for your final piece must
connect in ideas/theme
o Choose the best poems that you wrote and continue to revise for perfection clarification
of ideas and theme
o Use Poetry rubric section 4 and class lessons tp help you revise your poems
o Make sure to include figurative language. For example, personification, onomatopoeia,
metaphor, simile, hyperbole, puns, symbols and oxymoron
o Revise poems to pick up a style or poetry form. For example, rhyme poems, ABC poem,
acrostic, blank verse ...
o Revise using strategies of poets. For example, line breaks, stanza breaks, shape, rhyme
scheme, white space, a lliteration...

add to your publish piece (make sure to write authors' names to give them credit)

pages (cover should match the theme of your poems)
