Importance of study of legal history context of Bangladesh

In short legal history is historically journey of legal system.it analyzed where law
came from or where law will go. The arena of legal history also promoted from
the growth of social history. Legal history is closely linked to the growth of nations
and is set in the broader setting of communal history.
The legal system of Bangladesh has a recognized history of over thousands of
years. The current legal system of Bangladesh has been changed as a result of
steady process throughout the dissimilar period of Indian history.  Legal antiquity
of Bangladesh can be divided under four important periods, i.e., Hindu period,
Muslim period, British period and after independence. After freedom of
Bangladesh in 1971 the Temporary President broadcast the Laws extension
implementation Order, 1971 by which all laws that were in power in Bangladesh
on 25th March, 1971 sustained to be so in force. At present we have about 740
Acts, 507 Ordinances and some rules in Bangladesh.
Among convinced jurists and historiographers of legal procedure, it has been
understood as the footage of the development of laws and the practical
clarification of how these laws have changed with the opinion of better
understanding the origins of various legal concepts some reflect it a division of
intellectual history. Twentieth century historians have viewed legal history in a
more contextualized way more in line with the rational of social historiographers.
Legal history is an important subject. We should know about legal history because
huge number of Law is created by ancient law. By studying legal history, we can
know about legal system of our country, we can learn how can developed our
legal system from ancient period. In Indian sub-continent law is established by the
custom’s and religion. In Bangladesh we follow the British common law system
which is created by their customs. By studying legal history, we can learn that
how to developed and implement from prehistoric period. We can also learn that
what was our legal system in earliest.
