Concess Theory

1 What is concess?
Concess = Conf idence + Sucess . It is simple enough that concess stands for
the conjugation of confidence and sucess.

2 Introduction
Denote the confidence of a person P to be C. If P wants to be succesful his
confidence C* must lie within a boundary and this bound is
(heavily depressed < C* < over-confidence)
We define confidence to be the degree upto which any arbitrary P is satisfied
with itself.
Suppose in some particular day D, the number of times P thinks about anything
arbitrary = N0 , and now suppose the number of times P thinks about itself is
= N.

3 The Boolean Approach

Let us suppose that the number of times P thinks good about itself is Ng and
the number of times he thinks bad about itself is Nb .
Let the N thoughts about itself be labelled as T1 , T2 , T3 , ....TN .Out of which Nb
are bad thoughts and Ng are good thoughts.
Let the good thoughts be labelled as
G1 , G2 , G3 , ....., GNg
And let the bad thoughts be labelled as B1 , B2 , B3 , ....., BNb
Nb + Ng = N ≤ N0 and we assign weights (−1) to Bi0 s and (+1) to G0i s
N −N
Now define Ψ(D) = gN0 b ,therfore [ −1 ≤ Ψ(D) ≤ 1]
N −N 2N −N
Ψ(D) = gn0 b = Ng 0 = N −2N N0
b

Evidently,define,
N −N 2N −N N 2N
C = Ψ(D) + 1 ⇒ gN0 b + 1 ⇒ Ng 0 + 1 ⇒ N0g − N0N−N 0
⇒ N0g + Φ(D)
Define Φ(D) = fraction of the thoughts P thought about other arbitrary things
except itself.

1
3.1 Success
Success(S) is defined to be inversely proportional to Ψ(D)
1 χ
S ∝ Ψ(D) therfore S = Ψ(D)

4 The Fuzzy Approach

We see that in the boolean approach we assigned crisp weights to the thoughts
like complete 1 or complete −1. But in Fuzzy Approch we assign non-crisp
values to the thoughts.

4.1 What is Fuzzy Approach ?

To give an intuition about Fuzzy Logic let me provide an example .
Suppose I ask a Question is the tea hot? In boolean logic we would answer it by
saying yes or no .Yes having a membership of 1 and no having a membership of
0(Membership essentially means how strongly or closely is an answer giveable by
P .).But in Fuzzy logic we can give answers like Extremely Hot, moderately hot,
normal temperature, cool ,cold , or even freezing cold having their respective
memberships.like if I say that moderately hot has a membership of 0.9 this
implies that there is a strong chance that P will chose moderately hot as his
answer and at the same time if freezing cold has a membership of 0.1 this means
that there is a very rare chance that this will be P ’s answer.

4.2 Function between thoughts and memberships

If I ask P what kind of a feeling was Ti , it could give one of the following
answers,
(a3 ) Overconfident ⇒c3
(a2 ) Very highly confident ⇒c2
(a1 ) Highly confident ⇒c1
(a0 ) Normal ⇒c0 = 0
(a−1 ) not sure about myself(can’t trust myself) ⇒c−1
(a−2 ) Depressed ⇒c−2
(a−3 ) Heavily Depressed ⇒c−3
where ai ’s are the answers to the question and ci ’s are respective memberships.
therefore define a function
f :{set of all answers (ai ’s) }→ {set of all memberships (ci ’s)}
f (Ti ) = cj

2
PN
f (Ti )
therefore Ψ(D) = i=1N0
therfore S = PNχ.N0
f (Ti )
i=1
