FINDING COURAGE TO BE HEALED IN

THE MIDST OF COVID19 OUTBREAK
You might be Covid
free, but your heart is
still sick.
When Jesus had again
crossed over by boat to
the other side of the lake, a
large crowd gathered
around him while he was
by the lake.

MARK 5:21 (NIV)

Then one of the
synagogue leaders,
named Jairus, came,
and when he saw
Jesus, he fell at his feet

MARK 5:22 (NIV)

He pleaded earnestly with
him, “My little daughter is
dying. Please come and
put your hands on her so
that she will be healed and
live.” So Jesus went with
him.

MARK 5:23, 24 (NIV)

He pleaded earnestly
with him, “My little
daughter is dying. Please
come and put your
hands on her so that she
will be healed and live.”

MARK 5:23 (NIV)

Jesus went with
him. A large crowd
followed and
pressed around him.

MARK 5:24 (NIV)

And a woman was
there who had been
subject to bleeding
for twelve years.

MARK 5:25 (NIV)

She had suffered a great

deal under the care of

many doctors and had
spent all she had, yet
instead of getting better
she grew worse.

MARK 5:26 (NIV)

When she heard
about Jesus, she
came up behind him
in the crowd and
touched his cloak,

MARK 5:27 (NIV)

because she
thought, “If I just
touch his clothes, I
will be healed.”

MARK 5:28 (NIV)

Immediately her
bleeding stopped and
she felt in her body that
she was freed from her
suffering.

MARK 5:29 (NIV)

At once Jesus realized
that power had gone out
from him. He turned
around in the crowd and
asked, “Who touched my
clothes?”

MARK 5:30 (NIV)

“You see the people
crowding against you,”
his disciples answered,
“and yet you can ask,
‘Who touched me?’ ”

MARK 5:31 (NIV)

But Jesus kept
looking around to
see who had done it.

MARK 5:32 (NIV)

Then the woman,
knowing what had
happened to her, came
and fell at his feet and,
trembling with fear, told
him the whole truth.

MARK 5:33 (NIV)

He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith has
healed you. Go in peace
and be freed from your
suffering.”

MARK 5:34 (NIV)

He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith
has healed you. Go in
peace and be freed
from your suffering.”

MARK 5:34 (NIV)

MARK 5:32 (NIV)

The Saviour could distinguish the
touch of faith from the casual
contact of the careless throng.
Such trust should not be passed
without comment. He would
speak to the humble woman
words of comfort that would be
to her a wellspring of joy.

ELLEN WHITE, DA 344

He said to her,
“Daughter, your faith
has healed you.

MARK 5:34AB (NIV)

The wondering crowd that
pressed close about Christ
realized no accession of vital
power. But when the suffering
woman put forth her hand to
touch Him, believing that she
would be made whole, she
felt the healing virtue.

ELLEN WHITE, DA 344

So in spiritual things. To talk of
religion in a casual way, to
pray without soul hunger and
living faith, avails nothing. A
nominal faith in Christ, which
accepts Him merely as the
Saviour of the world, can never
bring healing to the soul.

ELLEN WHITE, DA 344

The faith that is unto
salvation is not a mere
intellectual assent to the
truth. He who waits for
entire knowledge before he
will exercise faith, cannot
receive blessing from God.

ELLEN WHITE, DA 344

Many hold faith as an opinion.
Saving faith is a transaction by
which those who receive Christ
join themselves in covenant
relation with God. Genuine faith is
life. A living faith means an
increase of vigor, a confiding trust,
by which the soul becomes a
conquering power.
