Once you’ve completed the main shoulder shaping, it’s time to work the front and back
separately down to the underarm.

Left Front

With RS facing, work across the Left Front stitches to the marker.

1/13
Remove the marker and turn work so the wrong side (purl row) is facing.

Slip the Left Front stitches purl wise, working from right to left, onto a stitch holder or
waste yarn.

2/13
If using waste yarn, tie the ends together.

Turn so the right side is facing again, and work across the narrow shoulder strip to the
next marker.

3/13
Turn work so the wrong side is facing and slip shoulder stitches onto a separate stitch
holder or waste yarn.

Work to the end of the row.

4/13
Right Front

With WS facing, work across the Right Front stitches to the marker.

5/13
Remove the marker and turn work so the right side is facing. Slip the Right Front stitches
purl wise, working from right to left, onto a stitch holder or waste yarn.

6/13
Turn so the right side is facing again, and work across the narrow shoulder strip to the
next marker.

7/13
Turn work so the wrong side is facing and slip shoulder stitches onto a separate stitch
holder or waste yarn.

8/13
Work to the end of the row. You’ll now be working back and forth on the Back stitches

Next time: Casting on the middle of the row and joining to work in the round.
