Concept of hazard
A hazard in any agent that can cause harm
or damage to humans, property or the environment.
Risk is defined as the probability that exposure to a
hazard will lead to a negative consequence or more
simply, a hazard poses no risk if there is no exposure
to that hazard.
Types of hazards
• Physical hazards

• Ergonomic hazards

• Psychological hazards

• Environmental hazards

• Biological hazards
Physical hazards
 It is defined as a factor within the environment
that can harm the body without necessarily
touching it. Vibration and noise are examples of
physical hazards.

Ergonomic hazards
is a physical factor within the environment that
harms the musculoskeletal system.
 it include themes such as repetitive
movement, manual handling , workplace .
• Psychological hazards
 includes but aren‘t limited to strees, violence
and other workplace streesors.

• Environmental hazards
 is a substance which has the potential to
threaten the surrounding natural environment
or adversely affect people‘s health , including
pollution and natural disasters such as storms
and earthquakes.
• Biological hazards
 known as Biohazards
Refers to the biological substances that pose a
threat to the health of living organisms,
primarily humans.
The impact of various hazards

These impact could include less of life, the scale

of damage or discrupting , numbers of people impacked and

economic loss.
