Overall, this subject has been very useful in providing us, students, a perception on the different regions

that exist within the wide umbrella of the computing discipline. Finer details provided by each talk has
given me a gist of how each computing specialisations work. This has helped me to consider pursuing my
expertise further into virtualisation technology probably in the future as it seems promising based on the
tech talk by VMWare.

Furthermore, the tasks to write reflections based on two tech talks attended, were also very
helpful in cementing what I have learned through it. This has made me to have a high degree of
receptiveness to new perspectives of existing technologies. It tested my understanding on topic which I
think I knew before and gave me a new understanding. Not only I understood the topics better than
before, but I also analysed the info by forming my own thoughts and writing them down.

Besides that, what mattered the most is what I have learnt from our group work experiences.
During the tenure of working together, situations cropped up and tested us on the scales of making the
decisions and handling the pressures and exceptions. We would have been unable to accomplish
anything if we had not worked together. Even though the tasks were broken up into smaller pieces, we
often consulted with one another when we ran into difficulties with our work. All group discussions were
done thoroughly where everyone had the chance to make strong contributions. I made sure no one was
left behind. During the group work we also encountered a problem, where we got stuck. After providing
the case background and highlighting some issues, we got stuck at possible strategic solutions that were
currently in development in autonomous vehicles. This problem was slowing down our group’s progress.
Nonetheless, we managed to overcome this problem by getting feedback from our lecturer on which
technological paradigms of autonomous vehicles to focus on. Using the feedback, we received, we
further proceeded the work on our technical report and presentation slides to complete it on time.
Another problem I faced was to juggle between different assignments which sometimes were due at the
same time. This is where teamwork really played its part. We helped each other in the report writing, by
searching for journal articles that were related to our topic which and worked on reviewing it at once
instead of doing individually. This saved us a lot of time, since the task could be completed earlier using
the input of all members. Throughout the duration of writing the technical report, I have learnt how to
analyse and critique journal articles by looking at the benefits and drawbacks each provided.
Conclusively, this subject has been nothing but informative. The lecturers involved in this subject
were very understanding and helpful guiding me throughout the course. I tried to make most of this
subject by joting notes and getting feedbacks from the lecturer for the groupwork as I thought it could
be very useful.
