Equations with Logarithms

Just a big caution. ALWAYS check your solved valued with the original logarithmic equation.

Remember: It is ok to have values of x such as positive, 0 and negative numbers. However,

the logarithm of a negative number or zero are both not defined. Therefore it is not allowed
to have a logarithm of a negative number or a logarithm of 0 when substituted into the
original logarithm equations. Those solutions are not valid. They are called extraneous
solutions.
