Course Objectives: Students shall be able to develop the forms and internal spaces in coordination of various pre-defined modules and proportioning
systems and using them in designing of buildings.

Course Contents/Syllabus:

Module I: Orientation to Modular coordination
Defining the concept of Modular coordination and introduction to building systems, production of mechanized products and Various types 30%

Module II: Advantages & disadvantages of Modular coordination
Prefabrication; advantages, disadvantages and relevance in Indian context. Classification of prefabrication systems developed by CBRI,

skeletal system, Brick panel system, non-structural elements, and devotions in prefabrication. Manufacturing of modules and their
transport to the site.
Module III: Modular planning of an interior space
System of proportions, introduction of various systems and comprehensive industrialized building modules their introduction and 30%
application.
Module V: Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDA)

Understanding the method & steps involved in the execution of Modular buildings OFF and ON site. Importance of accuracy & detailing of 10%
various parts in a Modular building.
Student Learning Outcomes:
 The student will able to produce the forms and internal space of building in coordination of defined modules and use them in synch with pre-
fabricated/modular furniture.

Pedagogy for Course Delivery: The course will be delivered by means of lectures, studio exercises, group presentation and domain specific, structured site
visits.

List of Professional Skill Development Activities (PSDA):

i. Making a physical model of any modular building documented during the course.
ii. Visit to modular construction site for interaction with site architect & engineers to understand coordination of structure & services.
iii. Workshop and visit to Pre-fab factory/project in Delhi NCR.
iv. Market survey & research with stakeholders involved in the construction process of such buildings.
