1.1 INTRODUCTION
Health-Related Fitness
The ability of the body to meet the demands of daily physical effort and activity, to have enough
energy reserve for unexpected emergencies and to enjoy the feeling of well being that regular
exercise brings.
Components Of Health-Related Fitness
Cardiorespiratory Fitness/ Cardiovascular Endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs and
vascular system to working muscles during sustained physical activity.
Health-Related Fitness Index
-twelve minute walk/ run test to calculate a predicted maximal oxygen cnsumption test
(V0₂max/VO₂peak)
Muscular Strength refers to the maximum amount of force a muscles can exert against an
opposing force
Health-related Fitness Index
- push-ups
-weight lifting heavy weight with few repitition
- pull ups
Muscular Endurance-refers to the ability of the muscles to work over an extended period of
time without fatigue.

Flexibility-is the ability to move a body through a full range of motion (ROM) at a joint.

7. decrease risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

9. decrease risk of diabetes and some cancer
10. improve self-esteem and self-confidence
11. decrease body fat and improves metabolism and increase energy level and academic
achievement.
