I. Introduction:

The quality of life has a lot to do with how one feels about the type of life he or she
leads. Think of your body as a complex creation of thousands of systems and processes. Each system
has a definite job to do. If you keep your body in good health, it will surely work efficiently.
When do you say that a person is physically fit? There are several indicators of a
physically fit person. A person is physically fit if he or she is in good health or has a strong body.

III. Implementation:
A. Physical Fitness – is the ability of the body to function efficiently and effectively in work
and leisure activities. It means being healthy able to resist diseases like
heart disease, low back pain, type II diabetes, obesity, and being able
to meet emergency situations.

B. Health-Related Fitness Components – refers to those aspects of physiological function


that offer protection from diseases resulting from an inactive lifestyle.

a. Cardiovascular Fitness – the ability of the heart, the blood vessels, and the
respiratory system to deliver oxygen throughout the
body.
b. Muscular Endurance – the ability of the muscles to exert effort over a period
of time.
c. Muscular Strength - the ability of the muscles to exert an external force or to
lift a heavy weight.
d. Flexibility – the ability to move the joints freely and without pain through a
wide range of motion
e. Body Composition – refers to the proportion of the fat part of the body to
the lean part.
IV. Evaluation:

A. Health-related Physical Fitness Test

To see the level of your fitness, here are the health-related physical
fitness test that you may undertake to assess your level of fitness. These
tests are done to help you identify the physical activities that you may do, to
maintain and improve your physical health and well-being.
