My dear Apurbo,
Accept my boundless love and floral wishes at the very outset of my letter. In your last letter, you wanted to know
about the last prize giving ceremony of our school. Now I am going to give a vivid description of the last prize giving
ceremony of our school.
The last prize giving ceremony of our school was held in a very befitting manner on 15 March in the school
compound. The school building was decorated very gorgeously. Some respectable personalities of our locality
attended the function. The local MP of our area was the chief guest. The function began sharp at 10:30 am. At first, a
student recited and explained some verses from the Holy Quran. Then, the Principal delivered a very pleasing speech.
After that, the chief guest spoke highly of the students of our educational institution. However, the main function
began as soon the Principal announced the names of the prize winners. The chief guest gave away the prizes among
the recipients of prizes. I got two prizes and became very ecstatic. My joys knew no bounds when the Principal
announced my name as the student of the year. To entertain the invited quests, the students of our educational
institution presented a mind-blowing cultural programme. In the end, the Principal thanked all heartily for making the
programme a grand success. Thus, an unforgettable and colourful prize giving ceremony of our school came to a
pleasant end.
Give me a detailed description of the prize giving ceremony of your school. Convey my best regards to your parents
and love to the youngers.
Yours ever,
Sovon

My dear Nowshin,
Accept my boundless love at the very outset of my letter. A few weeks back, I experienced a very sad day in my life.
Now I am going to give you a description of the sad day.
It was 23 December of 2014. I got myself prepared to go to school to get the result of my annual examination. In all
the previous exams, I stood first. So, I thought of standing first in the annual examination just like Other exams. With
heartfelt hopes and aspirations, I entered into our classroom. But our form master did not give me a sweet smile as he
usually does. At this, I got a bit frightened. With a tensed mind, I went near the form master. Then, he showed me my
progress report. To my utter frustration, I found that I had stood 11 th instead of 1st. At once, I burst into tears. My form
master consoled me. But even his earnest consolation could not pacify my heart. I became so sad that I could not
express it in words. With a disappointed mind, I returned home. My intense sadness did not let me spend a single
moment in joy and delight. I could not concentrate on any activity. Everything seemed dull and bleak to me. The
thought of frustrating result was peeping into my mind again and again. It took away all my pleasures and joys of
mind. In a word, it was the saddest day of my life.
No more today. Convey my best regards to your parents and love to the youngers.
Yours ever,
Arthy

My dear Farfi,
Accept my boundless love and affection at the very outset of my letter. Recently I have heard that you do not learn
English with utmost attention and importance. Now I am going to tell you about the importance of learning English.
In the present age, English is the most important international language. It is also the main language of globalization.
With a view to facing the challenges of globalization, a person must have good working knowledge of English. It has
many linguistic benefits. For this reason, it is called the lingua franca of the world. International communication
depends a lot on English. Without learning English, nobody can communicate with foreigners. All the good jobs give
priority to English knowing people. To speak precisely, the jobs of a pilot, an engineer, an architect, a merchandizer, a
university teacher, a tourist guide, an employee of embassy and many other jobs ask for those people who are at home
in English. Books of higher education are written in English. Hence, a student willing to receive higher education
must have good command over English. More than 80 percent information in the world’s computer is in English.
Moreover, many international organizations use English for conducting their official activities. So, a person can be
competent for the competitive world by learning English. In this sense, the importance of learning English is beyond
description. In the end of my letter, I advise you to learn English with rapt attention.
Write to me soon about your progress in English. Convey my best regards to father and mother.
Lovingly yours,
Antora

Every student has a favourite teacher. As a student, I am not an exception to it. My favourite teacher is Mr.
Hamidul Khan. He is an English teacher. He is endowed with all the essential qualities of an ideal teacher.
He is very hardworking, energetic, sincere and honest. Most importantly, he has an impressive and pleasing
personality. As an ideal teacher, he teaches his students with utmost care and sincerity. He is very proficient
in English. He knows how to teach his students in a very comprehensible and effective way. His voice is
very strong. Like all other good teachers, he can hold the attention of all his students. He can make students
understand any lesson. If any student fails to understand any grammatical problem, he makes it easy.
Through his superb techniques, he helps his students have good command over English, Apart from his
teaching qualities, he is a good person of head and heart. He is equally popular with his colleagues and
students. He helps the poor as much as possible. He takes care of his family members in all possible ways.

Dear Adreto,
Accept my boundless love and floral wishes at the very outset of my letter. Hope you are in good health.
You will be delighted to know that I experienced a very delightful and pleasant first day at my new school a
few days ago. Now I am going to tell you about the experience and feelings on the first day at my new
school.
Recently I have got admitted into Rajuk Uttara Model College as a student of class seven. On the first day at
Rajuk Uttara Model College, I gathered unforgettable memories and experiences. I felt very delighted to see
the large playground, basketball ground, cafeteria, imposing academic building, modern auditorium and so
on. I along with my parents attended an induction ceremony. The Principal welcomed us heartily. A cultural
programme was held to welcome the fresh students. Melodious music, rhythmic dance and lively acting
charmed us all. After the induction ceremony, my form master took me to my new class. My form master
introduced all the fresh students. He asked other students to behave well with the new students. All my
classmates were very friendly and co-operative. They behaved well with us. I along with other new students
felt very glad to have friendly and supportive classmates. During the tiffin period, I took some light food in
the cafeteria and played badminton with my classmates in the playground. Then, I attended the remaining
classes. All the teachers impressed me much through their systematic teaching and nice behaviour. In a
word, my first day at my new school was full of unforgettable and pleasant memories.
Now I would like to draw a pause here. Write to me soon.
Yours ever,
Ratul
