Baby Diaper Cover

You will need:

Worsted weight acrylic yarn (such as bernat, or

Redheart brands)

Size G hook

Four ¾” buttons

Needle and matching thread

Guage. 5 scs per inch.

Key:

Slp=slip stitch

Sc=single crochet

Dec=decrease

Ch=chain

Starting at back.

Start- ch61

Row 1- sc in second ch from hook and across. (60) ch1 turn

Row 2- sc across. (60) Ch1 turn

Row 3- sc in 1st 2, ch 3, skip 3, sc in next 50, ch 3, sc in last 2. (60) ch1 turn.

Rows 4-8 – sc across. (60) ch1 turn

Row 9- repeat instructions for row 3.

Rows 10-11 – sc across (60) ch1 turn

Row 12- slp in first 13, sc in next 34, (47) ch1 turn
Row 13- sc in first 34. (34) ch1 turn

Row 14-20 – sc across. (34) ch1 turn

Row 21- dec 1 over the 1st 2(AKA sc 2tog), sc across (33) ch1 turn

Rows 22-38 – dec 1 over the 1st 2, sc across.(32)(31)(30)(29)(28)(27)(26)(25)(24)(23)(22)(21)(20)(19)(18)(17)(16)

Rows 39-40 – sc across (16) ch1 turn

Rows 41-58 – 2sc in 1st. sc rest of round. (17)(18)(19)(20)(21)(22)(23)(24)(25)(26)(27)(28)(29)(30)(31)(32)(33)(34)

Rows 59-69 – sc across, (34) ch1 and turn

Row 70- sc across, continue to sc around perimeter by doing one stitch per each row end, and across all
stitches. Slp in first stitch when you complete round. End off.

Fold as a diaper and bring flaps over front of diaper. Make a chalk mark where center of each hole
overlaps. This is where you will stitch your buttons.
