AutoCAD Land Development 2009

1. How to install Auto CAD Land Development?

 Open back up ,run setup file and Click on ignore if asked during installation.
 After installation ,for activation open crack folder and click on Key Gen.EXE .
 Provide activation code, generate activation key and use that key to activate.

2. How to Create Project ?

 Double click on
 Click on File/New.
 Give Drawing Name ( road map…).
 Browse Project and drawing Location using ( Browse button).
 Create project/give Project information name and click on Ok.
 In Load Setting window select m 1000 set(metric 1:1000) and click Next
 Select linear units as meter and angular units as Grads and click Next.
 Select Horizontal scale as 1:1000 and Vertical scale as 1: 100 and click Next.
 Select Categories (Nepal) and click Next,Next,Next,Next and Finish and click Ok.
 Now project in LD has been created.

3. How to plot coordinates ?

 Get your coordinate file in CSV format by using save as option in MS-Excel.
 Click on Menu browser/ Points /Point Setting and define
o Marker size as 0.5
o Text size as 0.5)
o Check required visibility option and select suitable color and click Ok.
 Click on Points /Import/Export points/Import points.
 Select Format asn PENZD(comma delimited)/Source file ( Open your csv coordinate file ).
 Click on Ok ,select Over write , click Ok and Wait till transferring points.
 Type z (zoom) in command bar and click Enter.
 Type E (Extent) command bar and click Enter.
Now you can see your coordinate points.

4. How to create point group as you want?

 Click on/Menu browser Points / Point Management /Point Group Manager

 Click on Create point group/Give point group name (eg. House corner….)
 Click on include and tick on With Raw Desc Matching (Type code you used eg. HC..) and click Ok.
 Repeat same process for making required number of groups.

5. How to insert Point Group to drawing?

 Click on Points /Insert points to drawing.

 Type G (group) and click Enter.
 Select require group and click Ok.

6. How to Remove Points from Drawing?

 Click on Points / Remove from drawing /select Yes and click Enter.
 Select g(group) and Enter (Points will be removed from drawing).

7. How to Create Layers?

 If there is no Layer tools, Go to Tools (Menu)/Toolbars/AutoCAD>/Layers.

Now layer tool bar will be displayed.

 Click in layer properties Manager

 Click New layer button

 Give name of layer also give color as you like

 Prepare all required layers.

8. How to digitize map?

 Insert points or point group.

 Set current layer for drawing and digitize in corresponding layers using field sketch.
 Now you can digitize in current layer using point data (image data)

9. How to insert Symbol (point Symbol) ?

 Set point layer as current layer (eg. tree…)

 Click on Utilities/symbol manager.
 Select required symbol and click on screen where you need.

10. How to create contour lines?

 Create boundary of your project area to create contour by using polyline tool.
 Click on Terrain/Terrain Model Explorer/Right click on terrain.
 Create New surface (Give name of surface).
 Expand Terrain and Surface(click on plus sign) .
 Right click on point file and select add point file.
 Select point file /Give format and source file and click Ok.
 Click Boundary and right click to Add boundary definition and give name of boundary .
 Select o (show/Hide/Outer) type of boundary.
 Make break lines along edge (yes..) and click Enter.
 Click on Terrain / Set current surface (select require surface if there are more than one surface).
 Right Click on surface and click on Build (wait till building surface)and click ok.
Check on
 Click on Terrain/Contour style Manager/Contour appearance Ok. -Use point file data
 Select contours only in Contour display and spline curve in Smoothing option. -Use point group data
 Select required text style, label position etc. -Apply Boundaries
 Click on Terrain /Create Contours.
 Give Surface /elevation Range and vertical scale/ name of Contours ( major and minor ).
 Define Intervals ( Major contours and Minor contours) and click ok.
 Erase old contours use yes (y) command.
 Now you can see contours in your screen.
 Use different color for major and minor contour.

11. How to Label contours?

 Click on Terrain/Contour label.

 Select Group Interior.
 Give elevation range and click Ok.
 Create required line to label and click Ok.

12. How to create alignment?

 Select civil design in workspace control.

 Create new layer/change color /make it current and create alignment line using polyline (Road
center or line joining IP).
 Click on Alignment /Define from Polyline.
 Click(select) polyline and click Enter.
 Give alignment name and click Enter.
 [starting and ending station values will be displayed in command line].
 Click on Alignment / Station Display format/Select required number format.
 Click on station label setting and Select Station lebel increment (…20m…)
 Station tick increment as 20m,Station label offset as 0 and click Ok.
 Click on Alignment / create station Label [Give value for Beginning and ending stations] .
 Change the height of station label text size as you required.

13. How to Create Profile?

 Click on Menu/Profiles/Surfaces/Set current surface.

 Select surface you need and click Ok.
 Click on Menu/ Profile /existing ground/Sample from surface/Ok.
 Give beginning station value and click Enter. Lable size / text size
 Give Ending station value and click Enter. -Profile (Menu)
-Label
 Click on Profile /Create profile/Full Profile.
-Set text style
 Change Vertical Scale (..200…). -Size / Height (1.0)
 Select starting point to create profile and Click yes. -Set current
-close
 You can see profile in your screen.

14. How to Create Cross-Section?

 Click on Menu/ Cross-section/ Surfaces/set current surface.

 Select your surface/tick on Terrain surface/ok.
 Click on Cross-section /Existing ground/ Sample from surface.
 Select swath width left…right…)/Ok.
 Click on Cross-section /Surfaces/Section plot/Setting.
 Set Section layout and page layout.
 Select Section plot/All /Give required position to plot all section plots and Enter.

13. How to Print map ?

 Pick up Rectangle tool and text box for layout.

 For symbol click on Menu/utilities/Symbol manager.
 Click on Menu/File/Plot.
 Define printer as pdf,paper size,Scale,plot area as window and tick on center the plot.
 Provide location and click ok.

14.How to add shape file to the LD ?

 Click on data in Task pane.

 Click on connect to Data.
 Select Add SHP connection .
 Provide connection name and source file and click on connect.
 Now you can visualize shape file on screen.

15.How to use shortcut keys?

 U:units
 C:circle
 L:line
 Aa:area
 Qc:calculator
 D:dimension
 Type different words in command bar for getting that tool.
