Dhal char(NOW)

Ordinary people hardly go there because of fear of pirates who lurk about in gangs, the remoteness of
the area being ideal for hideouts. They take easy shelter in the nearby forest to hide from the law
enforcing agents.

The beach area is free from any sort of air and sound pollution. There is no road, no motor
vehicles in Dhal char. Not even a single cycle or rickshaw can be found here.
 

The closest point of mainland is Kossopia 35 kilometres away from Char fashion upazilla of
Bhola.
So, one can go to Dhalchar by launch and then walk up to the beach. Maximum people of Bhola
have not even heard of Tarua earlier. Going there by speedboat the journey takes only half an
hour from the mainland, local people claimed that the local administration is not aware of the
new sea beach or of other beautiful places in the area that foreign and local tourists can visit. The
beach could be an attractive tourist spot as it is very rich in natural beauty.

The east part of the island is decreasing day by day because of river bank erosion. The island is
marked as one of the most vulnerable areas for natural disaster.
 
Kukri mukri(NOW)

. It is an assumption that the island is five hundred years old and not so highly modernized.

The threats are encrochment for cultivation land and excessive fishing by the local people and
invasion of the exotic foreign plant species. The main attraction of Char Kukri-Mukri is the presence
of migratory birds during the winter season.

The local sources said, one of the 48 Mujib Kellas (cyclone shelters built with high soil stacks) under

Charfasion upazila is situated at the Kukri garden. The shelter is currently being used as a forest

camp. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, during his tenure, built the

shelter. This shelter established on 300 acres of land could be a tourist spot.

Chairman of Char Kukri-Mukri Union Hashem Mohajan said, government has already taken some

projects to develop Char Kukri-Mukri as an ideal tourist spot. The Forest Department has a project to

build a multi-storied motel here, There will be 30 rooms with central air cooler system, swimming

pool, and sports ground. The project work will start from the next month, the chairman informed.

According to the Forest Department, a forest research centre in Char Kukri-Mukri is under process.

There are 2,017 hectares of forest area. The main tree is Caraway which has rich economic value.

There are also Sundari and Gewa trees. Besides, a forestation project has been started here.
Already

10 acres of land has been brought under Sundari tree plantation. About 50,000 seedlings have

already been produced. From 1998, a research to make the island habitable for wild animals has

begun.

There is also a plan to create abode for wild cats like tiger and lion in future. There are currently 17
forests in Char Kukri-Mukri. Of these,
the Char Kukri-Mukri garden has been created on 1,768 acres of land.

Deputy Minister for Environment and Forest Abdullah Al Islam Jakob, MP. said, the government has

taken steps to develop the island as one of the major tourist attractions; international level hotel and

motel will be built for local and foreign tourists, If communication with the mainland is established, it

will attract more visitors, he added.

Recently International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) identified Char Kukri-Mukri as a
place of global biodiversity.

Conclu:
Just two years ago, the people of Bhola did not know that such a beautiful beach had surfaced
along the coast. The local administration is, however, yet to be aware of surfacing such a sea
beach. As a result, the area remained almost undiscovered and neglected.

The local people however said that the area could easily be made an attractive tourists spot
through proper plans and development work by the government.
 The local people of Char-fashion demanded that the government should declare the area a
tourist spot and undertake development work there for making it attractive to local and foreign
tourists.  As the name forgotten
There is no railways and airport in this district and no direct connection to the capital by road.
Waterways are the main medium of transportation. Launch, steamer and sheep are used for
transportation.
