POLITICS ON RELIGION

Politics is basically concerned with how the community be governed according to

its common good. In a community there are so-called political authorities these people

are the one who tasked or voluntarily submit themselves to serve people in the

community, they are authorized to run the community in all its aspect including

economic concerns and community security. Politics takes a huge role in every citizen of

the community, they influence people on their day to day lives.

Religion is the service and worship of God, divine being, supreme being, Allah

s.w.t or any other attributes that pertains to the one who believes to be the creator of

the entire cosmos. The same with politics there are also religious actors who are

responsible for propagating and strengthening the faith of every member of a certain

religion. It is also their main task to teach the fundamental teaching of such religion,

they are the models to their fellows. In the earlier period especially in Islam there is no

such concept as politics and religion. What is there is a combination of

politics/leadership and the fundamental teaching of the Islam religion such as the

Qur’anic provisions or the Qur’an. This is also true to other religion, however in this

contemporary period politics and religion is already separated, or the separation of the

state and the church religious actors may support, oppose, persuade, protest, rebel
against and pay attention to political rulers. But in Islam religion and politics is still a

combination to establish a well and spiritual guided society. In Islam it affirms that

anyone can be a leader of the community as long as he possesses the characteristic of

a good leader and a servant of God (Allah s.w.t), it only assures that the Muslim

ummah will not be misguided from the teaching of the holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of

the Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh). Hence, politics and religion is both an important to the

humanity they have both role in making the society more perfect and more innovative.

Religion is a spiritual side of politics it also talks about good governance or leadership,

politics is always concerned on the common good thus both are essential in the society.
