1. AEO Procedures: basic structure
AEO procedures are key to establishing how we will fulfill Program requirements and
to knowing who is responsible for them. We can establish a basic or standard
structure for the procedures that we will list below:

• Permanent data management.

• Risk and threat analysis:

– Irregularities-communications checks.
– Internal audits.
– Reevaluations.
– Correctional and preventative actions.
– Accident and incident investigation.
– Performance of periodic checks-security inspections.
– Coordination of preventative activities with other companies.
– Supplier-trade partner assessments.

• Professional action guidelines:

– Security in offices, facilities and storage.
– Access management.
– Documentation archiving and control.

• Personnel selection protocol:

– Worker information and training.
– Absences management.

• System definition:

– Information security.
– Domain policies.

2. Procedure adaptability
With regard to the previously indicated general structure, it is important to
emphasize two issues:

1. The procedures described are a work proposal that must always be adjusted to
the structure that each country in the region has established for its operators.
2. Adaptability of the procedures according to the profile and activity of the
company at hand.

3. Procedure operations
It is worth pointing out that these procedures must be sufficiently strict enough to
allow for the control and security of our actions, yet sufficiently speedy for company
operations to not become confined and for controls to not constrain company
activity.

Once the efficacy, rigor and utility of these procedures have been confirmed, that will
be the moment to notify customs authorities of our availability to present our
application and become an Authorized Economic Operator.
