Discussions made by the Participants:

We met Mr. Girdhari Lal Prabhu, Student affairs concerned person whom we first
discussed about the background of this NGO. He told that Akshaya Patra it is the
world’s largest NGO run mid day meal program serving wholesome school lunch
to over 1.8 million children in 19000 schools across 12 states & 2 Union territories
in India. He told us about the fund raising procedure that first we have to ask our
institution to write a written letter of approval to the NGO seeking to pitch to the
corporate sectors. After this , they may or may not approve us depends on the
management criteria they follow or it could be followed according to their
standard of procedure.
If we get approval then they will also guide us for the fund raising and we will try
to contact to the corporate sectors as well.
About the future plans they told us that they are expanding their base in some
newer locations like some new districts of Rajasthan , Assam , Jharkhand , Gujarat
etc.
Our take on:
Charity fundraising is an effective way to help contribute towards a program like
Akshaya Patra Mid day meals. Through the social media volunteering you can be
more active and your efforts would be acknowledged. We can simply can make a
child smile without disturbing the daily operations.
