OUR ENVIRONMENT: POLLUTION AND PROTECTION

The following questions will be discussed in the first Social Studies class:

1. Define pollution. What are the four main types of pollution?

2. What is the difference between a pollutant and polluters?

3. List the pollutants that disturb the balance of gases in the atmosphere.

4. How do gases released from vehicles and factories and gases released from
appliances pollute the air?

5. Why are forests and trees cut down? What harm do we cause by cutting them
down?

6. What are the harmful effects of air pollution?

The following questions will be discussed in the second Social Studies class:

1. What are the steps that should be taken to help reduce air pollution?

2. In what ways can vehicles be made to reduce air pollution?

3. Why should we plant more trees?
