Landscape

-Landscape art is the depiction of landscapes in art. It focuses on natural scenery such as mountains, valleys, trees, rivers, and forests,
especially where the main subject is a wide view. Artists can also include images of seascapes, cloudscapes, skyscapes,
riverscapes, or cityscapes (otherwise known as "urban landscapes").
- Landscape artists can choose to depict their vision of the earth in a variety of ways. Their v iews in art may be entirely imaginary,
or copied from reality.

Cesar Buenaventura (1922–1983)


- Born on January 14, 1922 in Manila, Philippines, Buenaventura was the son of the celebrated Filipino
painter Teodoro Buenaventura.
-Buenaventura was one of the most prolific and well-known Filipino artist who was known for his vibrantly colorful and
thickly painted depictions of landscapes and people of the Philippines.
- His canvasses generally convey a quiet, serene, and tranquil impression of Philippine rural life and culture that evoke joy and pride
set amidst a pastoral scene.

Fernando Amorsolo (1892-1972)


-He was born on May 30, 1892 in Calle Herran in Paco, Manila to Pedro Amorsolo and Bonifacia Cueto. 
-He was a portraitist and painter of rural landscapes. He is best known for his craftsmanship and mastery in the use of light. An
Amorsolo painting contains a glow against which the figures are outlined, and at one point of the canvas there is generally a burst of
light that highlights the smallest detail.
-He is said to have painted more than 10,000 pieces.

Isidro Ancheta (1882-1946)


-Ancheta was a Landscape painter born in San Miguel on October 15, 1882.
-He was known for hard lines and a dark, though realistic, palette. A recurring theme in his work was fishing and seashore scenes, and
he most commonly worked with oils on wood or canvas board.
- Before World War II, his landscapes were found in classrooms all over the Philippines.
- Isidro Ancheta passed away in his early sixties in 1946. His works continue to gain fame, notably making waves in 2014 and 2015 at
Salcedo and León Gallery auctions.
