The artist Vicente Manansala, who was born on January 22, 1910 and passed away on
August 22, 1981, was famous for his realistic subject matter that he portrayed using abstract
or cubist techniques. Manansala believed that the process of creating a work of art, much
like the act of lovemaking, is where the true beauty lies, rather than simply in the finished
product.

dalagang Filipina, the landscapes of his native Philippines, portraits, and scenes from World
War II.
