Important verses in chapter 4: sa evayam..verse , yada yada hi dharmasya, evam

parampara praptam verse. This chapter on jnana yoga (chapter 4) is talking about how by
jnana we connect to krishna. Unless we connect to Krishna by parampara we can't be
connected in knowledge. All the yogas are meant to reveal my relationship with krishna

The ancient science of relationship is spoken to arjuna because he is a devotee.

verse 24

What is jnana yoga? What I am , what I am consisting of? (my mental , physical and false
identities?) Whatever activity I perform if it's performed on a platform of divinity still my body,
mind and identity has to play a role. They always exist and in relation to Krishna. Last verse
of chapter 3 says, one should control mind by spiritual intelligence. Lust can be controlled by
grace of krishna and guru. I have to receive transcendental knowledge and for that I must
be connected to parampara the medium by which the knowledge is coming . This parampara
knowledge, when I receive, everything (mind, body and senses) will be impregnated with
spiritual intelligence . Hence, we must always be connected to spiritual intelligence by
regular contact of SB, Bhagavatam CC. Everything becomes absolute, I don't have to worry i
am pure or impure unless I soak my selves in KC (impregnated with the spirit of KC--our
lifestyle). This is very important verse (4.24) in entire BhagavadGita.

Why does this happen? Ans: “parasya saktir vividhaiva sruyate” all energies rest in
Krishna. If I connect any energy to krisha It attains divinity.

Verse 25--26
Vishwamitra, durvasa these yogis always worshipped lord siva and brahma other yogis.
They worshipped brahman, the eternal aspect of absolute truth. The Brahmacaris dedicate
themselves to sravanam and cultivate art of mind control and the householders they perform
yajnas. Prabhupad said we have 75% students and 25% householders in iskcon. These
25% have responsibility to take care of the other 75%. Of Course there is no varnasrama
nowadays. “Durbhikhsa '' when people are not capable of giving donations (drought and
famine), due to drought and famine grihastha lose the ability to donate, that's why it's
durbhiksham. The brahmacharis, sannyasis and they don't get bhiksa and when people are
not getting bhiksa . When people don't get an opportunity to donate that is durbhiksham. In
2000 in Germany sir's colleague used to complain of hare krishna asking for donations to
feed children in India, temples etc. The colleague used to say, all other amenities like health
care insurance etc used to take away money from us. In general when people are bereft of
KC there is very less chance to give bhiksa.

Text 27 --In a day or two sir’s going to send CBT. Once in day time and secondly before
going to bed.

Text 28 --- So, Jnana yoga means” or any yoga in general, karma yoga for fruitive workers
but for jnana , dhyana and bhakti one requires a high level of piety, sukruti and
consciousness. You have to have vows. Once we enter into iskcon society we follow four
vows (four regulative principle, vow to finish at least 16 rounds in early morning(morning
hour only!!)) These 5 vows are important for iskcon devotees. Any yoga requires maintaining
certain vows and these vows are not meant to be broken. Vows means sankalpa. Like all
students should make a vow that I will remain celibate. A student cant remain celibate if one
is not situated in purity and austerity. A brahmachari must take a vow of celibacy. A grihasta
additionally takes a vow of chastity in addition to celibacy. A woman must be chaste to
husband and husband chaste to krishna. Vanaprastha vow: Give up all possessions to
ISKCON. Sannyasi vow: A sannyasa should remain away from kamini and kancana. For eg:
prataparudra kingdom was vast but Mahaprabhu was not interested to meet him. For
Krishna all these things are less than a pie. Vows are very important. Some people follow
Jnana yoga, other yogas etc.

Text 29: Mystic things of dhyana yoga.

Text30 : Unless I have a mission that I want to experience divinity I am and the absolute
divinity his grace magnanimity. Ex: dhruva receiving darsan of lord visnu, prahlad maharaj
fortunate to sit in lap of Lakshmi narasimha dev. Our mission is not to spoil human birth.

Text 31 : sacrifice is a must. A person who doesn't know--fasting, cultivates deep silence
within and only speaks about Krishna. A brahmachari gives his complete youth to Krishna.
Householder gives his complete earnings for the propagation of KC. sannyasi gives his
whole time in preaching KC. These all are sacrifices. Instead of watching TVs, gadgets or
corona news, if we spend time memorizing verses, spend time reading Prabhupad books
these are called real sacrifices. Of Course the epitome of all sacrifices is how much time I
give to chanting HK mahamantra. I am chanting thinking of this nectar that nothing of this
world disturb my focus on harinam.

Text 32,33: If I am performing sacrifice I must have transcendental knowledge (TK). TK

must be a concomitant factor. There has to be complete realization of space and time and
what is beyond space and time. Tad Viddhi pranipatena pariprashnena sevaya

Text 34, 35 : Krishna is saying everyone from microbe (indragopa--BS from indragopa to
indra(the most powerful creation by Brahma) all of us are struggling with the influence of
karma and because of the suffering we are going through we are unhappy we are sinful but
“bhakti bhajam” if somehow by grace we come in contact with devotees we start practicing
and that practice liberates us). If we come in contact with the grace of guru and Krishna then
only with proper attitude then only we will have great opportunity to make use of life. From
indragopa to indra everyone belongs to krishna. Samah sarvesu bhutesu-- even if there is a
fraction of a moment a living entity is suffering due to us we get a reaction. Eg: killing
mosquitoes with an electric bat.

TExt 36,37: If i know this knowledge, janma karma ca me divyam...whatever sin i committed
in this life this transcendental knowledge helps me to be situated properly. I have to properly
catch hold of the holy name always. We contain a lot of sin within our physical, mental and
intellectual sphere so obviously there will be problems. We are reading about vishwamitra,
we have a long way to go, we have already committed a lot of sin. We have to approach a
bonafide spiritual master that's the wonderful thing which happened to us.

IIT campus is 100 times cleaner than vrindavan. In vrindavan sir’s house door is always
open and still no mosquito. When we are very sinful these entities are there to torture us.
Don’t use allout, electric bats, hit etc. Use only mosquito net that's the best way.

Panchal p question: If we don't surrender to Krishna? The sins we perform are due to three
modes of material nature? Ans: We should impregnate ourselves with more and more
spiritual knowledge. We are given enough opportunity to hear by the grace of sri chaitanya
mahaprabhu.

There are two pieces of knowledge for householders: financial stress is the biggest stress for
grihastha. Obviously you have to have some skill or knowledge that helps you to maintain
family and save something for krishna consciousness. But the coronavirus proved that the
so called Science & technology so developed are not of much use. The planes, trains are
present but are of not much use. Coronavirus is proving how badly we are situated in
knowledge. As hare krishna devotees we have strive to impart knowledge by our realization
of divinity. We have 1500 acres in Jharkhand, where anyone can go out and share
knowledge of KC with others. We don't have the ability to share knowledge with others
because of our lack of realization.

Sankalpa (vows) must not be violated. We become worse than an animal if we violate our
sankalpa. We must work very hard to maintain sankalpa. Please don't take sankalpa lightly.

Krishna is the only actor ultimately. When he controls you through three modes he becomes
an indirect actor. He is using anga, angada, nala, nila, prahlada somany as his instrument so
Krishna says that “nimittamatrena bhava savyasachi”. Be committed to spiritual life, in
spiritual life everyday when you wake up you feel you are in the grossest state of ignorance
and pray to krishna.

Some important points from today's morning class

- 7th chapter is the most important chapter of Bhagavad Gita .

Its the favorite chapter of Sir. It scientifically proves that Krishna Consciousness is the
highest yoga system.

- Even if we have an iota of ignorance, we cant perform bhakti.

- Srila Prabhupad has given maximum lectures on 7.1

- Sir has given maximum lectures on 7.28

Only when all sins are absolutely uprooted, one can truly perform bhakti.
Sins ( gross- breaking 4 regulative principles, subtle sins when consciousness not absorbed
in Krishna)

- 7.30 is the conclusion.

We dont perform any activity in bhakti, Krishna engages me. Krishna is the governing
principle.
Only when we take full shelter of Krishna, bhakti can be performed, He is the actor.
Krishna Consciousness is the ultimate yoga, because Krishna is incharge.
Our mood should be
"I am Your instrument Krishna, please engage me."

- sound is the closest to soul.

We should absorb ourselves in transcendental sound and stay away from prajalpa

Some more points or lecture summary below for chapter 8 although I missed several
pertinent points, other devotees can add.

🎤 Krishna is telling iam going to speak to you about KC yoga where there is no difference
between bhaktiyoga and KC yoga. 7th chapter is the foundation for rest of chapters.
In chapter 7 we learnt that very few will perform bhaktiyoga. Out of all those performing
bhaktiyoga hardly one is KC. If I want to be best i must know what is being expected of me
by Krishna. Based on last verse of previous chapter questions are posed.

🎤What are fruitive activities? That which gives rise to many bodies. We are still stubborn to
perform fruitive activities. Each material body from microbes (yastvindragopam athavendra
ahosvakarma..) they represent the effect of fruitive activities. What is this material
manifestation?
🎤Mayasakta manah partha --there is no ambiguity it is not by coincidence. How this verse is
important. Last verse of chapter 7 when one practices KC, adhibhuta is the gverning
principle of how material world works, adhidharma governing principle of all sacrifices,
adidaivam governing principle of all demigods. Lord Krishna is the governing principle of
material nature, all sacrifices and all demigods. One who understands the governing
principle of bhakti attains Krishna at time of death.

🎤 Arjuna asked 5 questions. Brahman? Material principles are illusory. Brahma is the
eternal principle by which all forms of living entities are animated. Self is the experience of
brahman as a unitary whole.

Verse 3
What kind of fruitive action I do based on that next result will come. Nowadays people are
distributing food packets and ration. Labor class people are so addicted to alcohol that he
sells ration and drinks alcohol. This is called fruitive action. Such people get a very sinful
body. Prpad said Brahmacarya must be practiced. Atleast ekanari brahmacari, if u cant
practice brahmacary aatleast get married and be satisfied with one wife. The idea is that
there has to be certain regulation in human life. It should not be based on maithuni bhava.
Even sparrows and insects do this. Our karma/fruitive actions results in variety of material
bodies.

Verse4
Material nature will follow the path given to it by Krishna. It is he (adhiyajna) who situated in
my heart sustains my activity of KC. Satyaraj khan asks mahapr who is a vaisnava? Who
chants mahamantra once. Anybody who is chanting with knowledge the mahamantra.
Krishna is seeing our austerities, its the supersoul who provided everything to me.
Prabhupad says we are always guided by two principles: 1)sadhu guru and sastra
2)Krishnas supersoul. We are not the performer Krishna is the performer.

Verse5
Anybody who remembers Krishna at time of death. What is the time of death? Nowadays
Anybody is ready to cut the body because of anaesthesia. Disclaimer: doctors also represent
our own greedy consciousness. There is no confusion.

Verse6
In orissa at time of death some people ask give me fish. Relatives say atma is saying give
fish so we should give fish.
Body befitting our consciousness at time of death we get.

Verse 7 ( tasmat sarvesu kalesu..)

Most famous verse is here. Even in the dream/sleep sarvesu kalesu. First remember
krishna and then fight. This is the summumbonum of this chapter. So KC is not a selective
action it is an eternal principle which must be impregnated into all our actions. Everything
must be KC. I have to Krishnaize eating, mating, sleeping and defending. When my mind,
intelligence is devoted to Krishna. We should never forget Krishna.

Verse 8
Bharat maharaj was not remembering krishna 100 percent. He lost track by taking care of
deer. Chota haridas has to pay a big penance. Krishna takes care of his devotees. He also
took care of bharat maharaj gave him next body, jada bharat in practicing KC. Examples.
Normally we dont understand the premise in which world is operating.

Verses 15,16,17,18 are the heart of this chapter

16 -- entire universe is asasvatam
17 --4.3 billion is one day and 8.6 one day and night .100 such years__.311 trillion years is
lifetime of brahma

Those who are yogis control their life air in eyebrows give up their body during uttarayana.
For devotees only condition is to remember Krishna there is no need of uttarayana and
dakshinayana. Finally the conclusion is 28

Anybody who is able to chant always has developed a taste for chanting. There is no other
activity he has to do. We have to take prasadam in a regulated fashion. Do service
reciprocating in our service of HK mahamantra. Preaching has no bound, he has unlimited
work to do. Ultimately a person is able to chant mahamantra 24 hrs a day. Preaching is a
natural ornament of a person who has developed taste for holyuname.
Kali Kala dharma harinama sankirtan..unless i have taste for holy name i can't be a preacher
This is the essence.
Essence: tasmat sarveshu kaleshu..Chanting becomes natural, internally you should feel
you are raja

Questions
How to Krishnaize material research?
Because one has desire to dance the material world has created this engagement.
How to Krishnaize defending principle?

Defending principle is how to depend on Krishna? Vasudev datta story. Defending principle
is how to depend on Krishna. Example of vasudev Datta in Chaitanya caritamrita. He spent
all money for preaching. He has a family to maintain but he has no money hence he told
sivananda Sen to take care of vasudev Datta. If I am given a service that becomes the
defending principle. Hanumanji, prahlad Maharaj did the service that is the defending
principle. But in modern civilization, where without service everybody is behaving like cats
and dogs.

How to develop taste for Chanting?

Continue chanting and make more efforts to improve.
Just give priority for chanting, before 5 o clock finish some rounds. Like that when we start
chanting in best period of the day. Chanting if given the best alert period ..practice has to be
done, Instead of just trying to chant everyday.

Notes on Chapter9 BG morning class by sir:

Chapter 8 Essence: The essence is to remember krishna at time of death, that is why tasmat
sarvesu kalesu? How do I attain abode of Krishna through holy name. This is the same
answer given by sukadeva goswami to parikshit maharaj. Tasmat bharata sarvatma
bhagavan isvara hari srotavya kirtitavyasya bhagavan isvaro harih (bhagavatam 2.1.5).

🎤The essence is that ultimately I have to remember Krishna. We should always remember
krishna. If you leave the body at times you don't remember Krishna, like maharaj Bharat. If it
can happen to maharaj bharat what about us? Very high probability we can't remember
Krishna at time of death. At time of death a cold cough can attack you, hunger can attack
you, you can be attacked by attachment for wife children. So KC service is the only way.
Service is given to you and through the service it is a defensive mechanism.

🎤Verse 13
“Mahatmanas tu mam partha daivim prakrtim asritah” (Prpad lecture) Krishna’s father’s
sister is Kunti. So Kunti should have felt Krisna has come and felt herself great to have been
visited by Krishna. But its said that all my connections with vrsnis and pandavas have to be
vanquished. I want to be disconnected from all connections with the material world. I seek
Krishna’s shelter by that process. Unless we renounce material world we cant have Krishna
bhakti. All intelligent students were studying under Lord chaitanya, he had chaste wife, he
had very respectful position in society but he left everything to become a complete
renunciant. Sarvabhauma bhattacarya is saying unless we become compltely renounced we
cant practice bhakti. My degree of renounciation will be understood when Krishna or maya
puts me under test. Without pure renunciation we cant practice remembrance of Krishna. We
have to practice “tasmat sarvesu kalesu”

🎤Verse 34
Chapter 9 says about how to perform that bhakti? Last verse in this chapter is “manmana
bhava mad bhakto”. Everything should jam my mind. We should always perform devotional
service to Krishna. Take the message of Krishna everywhere, mercy of Krishna give to
someone else. Yesterday we saw how vasudev datta prayed, let me perpetually suffer but
liberate all these jivatmas. The fact is that pure devotee who thinks whoever is to be
liberated lord Krishna immediately acts and purifies that conditioned soul. Krishna is saying
the message of Gita should go to every nook and corner of society.
Where is “mad bhaktah?” practice? (Eg’s given of LGLG course translated into oriya and
telugu by madhusudan pr, akhaya pr and lila govind pr) “mad yaji mam namaskuru” (Earlier
Krishna return in go dhuli period, then they give him aarti to drink nectarian ambrosia coming
from Krishna’s face in dark). In most of sri sampradaya temples, there is no electricity in
sanctum sanctorium. They give a candle darsan of lord on donation. Making garlands after
collecting flowers is “mad yaji” Once prpad comes from walk he immediately offers
obeisances to lord that is “mam namaskuru” Man mana--always remember, hear and chant
Krishna
mad bhaktah-- perform devotional service . There is nothing beyond man mana, mad
bhaktah, mad yaji, mam namaskuru. Tad aham bhaktyaupahrtam asnami prayatatmanah
In kaliyuga mercy is distributed in this world in the form of wood and water. Lord Jagannath
and Ganga Jal. Mounts of rice are cooked with ghee and patra(tulsi manjari) on top by
sarvabhauma bhattacarya. Krishna is saying how we can perform bhakti, how we can
remember krishna always. Chapter 9 is an elaboration on how we remember Krishna.

🎤Verse 27
“Yad karosi (our activities) yad asnasi (whatever is eaten) yad juhosi (whatever u offer)
dadasiyat (whatever charity) yat tapasyasi (whatever austerities performed) tad kurusva mad
arpanam (everything must be Krishnaized)”

🎤Verse 2
“Raja vidya raja guhyam verse” He is saying devotional service will result in direct
realization of Krishna (pratyaksavagamam) This is not there in any other chapter. Devotional
service is so powerful in the way mahaprabhu taught us. By performing austerities for many
years still we cant understand self, what to speak about Krishna realization? There should
be obsession always how can I practice in the line of Sri chaitanya mahaprabhu. “Sri krsna
chaitanya sarira dhari krpambudhir yas tam aham prapadye” Only by surrender to sri
chaitanya mahaprabhu. BY mercy of Sri chaitanya mahapr, many jagai’s and madhai’s are
delivered regularly. Our heart should melt once we hear about Sri chaitanya, we should
have thousands of mouths to glorify Sri chaitanya. Yesterday we have seen, even if lord
Rama and Sri chaitanya mahapr were opposed in words still they tolerated.

🎤Verse 30
 Every verse is a gem, all 34 verses are gems. “Api cet suduracaro bhajate mam ananya
bhak” “Even if somebody performs something heinous he will be forgiven in devotional
service. Prpad is saying for a man to renounce it is easy. But Kuntidevi is a woman and she
will have attraction both for husband’s and maike (parents) family. She doesn't want to have
any connection with either her husband's or parent’s family. In men’s body if we are not able
to renounce its hopelessness but if a woman renounces it is something great.
Whatever sin you may commit is insignificant in front of the name of Krishna. All living
entities sum total sins are nothing infront of the single name of Krishna. Thats why “sadhur
eva sa mantavyah samyak vyavasthito hi sah”. In valmiki ramayana, he is not able to
distinguish between lord shiva and vishnu. They say vishnu sanatana, vishnu deva deva but
they don't understand that vishnu is not subjected to death.
Krishna says, I am death personified, .., In a class sir scientifically told there is nothing but
Krishna all around us. You see everything you are only seeing Krishna.

🎤Verse 20
Those who study veda seek soma juice...even dasaratha is saying he wants to coronate
Rama and go for svarga gamana. Whatever knowledge I acquire is like an ocean (by
performing high degree austerity, renunciation) but all this is like a trap, that is Krishna.

🎤Verse 25
Most beautiful is yanti devavrata devan...This verse clearly says devatas and Krishna are
different. You worship Krishna, you get another result different from results of worshipping
devatas. Without understanding this one can't say he has read gita. BhagavadGita is the
basis. It is the first book printed in USA after easy journey to other planets.

🎤Verse 31
Ksipram bhavati dharmatma…. Krishna is saying to arjuna, you promise on my behalf that
name bhaktya pranasyati. Krishna’s promise can be broken but a devotee is not in a position
to break his promise.

Verse 22
Only when you perform devotional Service ,Krishna will preserve what you have and he will
shower more and more mercy on me. We are not serving ordinary person but absolute truth.
For serving we need qualification Krishna will provide everything. Srila prabhupad was given
only 40 rupees but he was given empowered disciples to start centers everywhere.
Prabhupad would find people who would edit his English and sanskrit text. Eg: dravida pr.
Ramesvara pr who can publish CC in two months. This is yoga ksemam vahamyaham. The
srirangam temple acarya was living under hut, he got a dsciple who is a dacoit, many
disciples with different talents. And they collected money to build srirangam temple. It is the
only temple place not affected by globalization. 95% of residents only speak tamil,. Only go
to tirupati. Prpad had generosity to tell shyamasundara das adhikari that you are my spiritual
master. Reading book “Sitting rhinos with swami”

🎤Why is BG secret of secrets. In text 4 krishna says all beings are in me, but i am not in
them. Sir when Krishna is there as paramatma why does he say he is not in them?

Answer: Krishna is saying he is just a witness not the one responsible for jiva’s activities.
🎤How to get into sound space?
Moment I am able to hear. I am within sound space. Space is the fundamental construct of
this material world. That space is not the way like scientists gave us.

🎤CBT comments abhaya Chaitanya pr

1. Thank you for preparing it with utmost care. I could see the amount of effort you have
put to make the CBT.
2. It is coherent and having a smooth and uninterrupted flow.
3. As you rightly pointed out, this is more than just stress management or relaxation. It
helped me to be more aware of the body, mind, and self. The description of how different
organs function brings us the awareness of Krishna.
4. The instructions at the time being aware about different parts of the body and relaxing
can be a little slower to act upon it with full concentration.
5. The instruction at the time of listening to Sachinandan Maharaj’s kirtan for the first time
can be a little more elaborate.
6. The instruction at the end while listening to again Sachinandan Maharaj’s Kirtan may
alos be little elaborate as to whether to chant loudly, softly, or in the mind etc.
7. At the end a line of instruction can be added how to open our eyes.

🎤Homework:
Maintain a daily Record of how CBT is effecting you. How effectively you are performing in
day time after CBT? How much are you able to control mind, anger etc? How much time are
you able to perform it without stopping?

Chapter 11
🎤11.33 is essence of chapter 11
Therefore get up and prepare to fight and win glory. Since chapter 3, we have started we
🎤Essence: Any one who understands krishna as he is then bhakti becomes a concomitant
factor. That is the glory of srila prabhup[ad who took krishna to every nook and corner and
presented krishna in a way for all of us. Krishna as he is not presented before. In chapter 10
it is presented that Krishna is the immediate, intermediate and ultimate cause. In 10.3
Krishna said the choice is yours if you want to remain in demoniac qualities. If you go away
from Krishna suffering will be unlimited. That's the essence of chapter 10.

🎤In august 1988, Oriya BG was purchased by sir, the verses have been translated as a
song. This is the first verse Krishna revealed to sir.* (BG 11.33)*

🎤*Therefore get up, prepare to fight and win glory Conquer your enemy and enjoy a
flourishing kingdom. They are already put to death by my arrangement, and you , O
savyasachi can be but an instrument in the fight. *
This is the essence of this chapter. Krishna is saying it is not that drona and bhishma will be
killed by you, simply become my instrument and the world will say you are victorious, earn
fame after conquering the enemy. Enjoy the prosperous kingdom. Know for certain that they
are all killed (mayaivaite nihatah purvam eva). Are you going to be an instrument for good
action or bad action? It is your choice.

🎤This virat rupa darsana is a chapter where Krishna is manifesting his virata form. Simply
demigods are his instruments. Actions are happening simply by his law. Rarely it happens by
his will (in this material world everybody wants to disobey hence there are laws of material
nature) Arjuna wants to see visvarupa ( atha va bahunaitena kim jnatena tavarjuna--I have
no doubt that you do maintain the entire creation but I want to see how you do it?).

🎤verses from 3 onwards: Krishna endowed special eye to arjuna to see his form. (text 8)
11: When krishna performs lila in vrindavan specific devotees smell Krishna in different
wonderful fragrances and become unconscious.
12: Arjuna saw that universal form, it pales the sum total of effulgence of million suns
together.
13: After hearing this nobody should say they will worship demigods.
14: If one goes to hrishikesh and stays in geeta bhavan, everyday they recite these verses
from chapter 11, the way arjuna was seeing viswarupa. Krishna as he is more beautiful than
all these descriptions.
Baraha pidam natavaravapuh verse() That is more beautiful than all these descriptions. It is
important that we can hear descriptions in this chapter then we can better appreciate this
verse. Graduate slowly from 2,3, 4 canto till 10 th canto. When mother Yasoda is opening
the mouth of Krishna she sees everything including Krishna's universal form.
What's inside and outside is difficult to make out. Using sankhya we can exactly figure out
Krishna is everywhere. Anybody who has performed devotional practices, he can see
Krishna alone everywhere. He will be able to chant HK mahamantra for 24 hours.

*19 *: when i commit sin krishna radiance burns me (like scorching sunheat) but if i perform
devotion we will be graced by krishna’s glance (soothing moon shine)) simultaneously.

20: By remaining away from KRishna we are simply bluffing ourselves.

21,22: Particularly Those who have performed austerities can say this
23: Lord siva was not given share in daksha yajna. Krishna is doing everything and Lord siva
and brahma feel they don't do anything.

24: Because this world is full of sin and sinners.

25: for all of us who are arrogant about our ability Krishna is death personified.
26-27: You see through limited eye but we don't see how krishna is kala destroying
everything.
28: These warriors are not simply entering into your mouth but are being blazed. Men who
experience in subtle form the punishment for death from yamadutas at speed of light carried

29: Light is telling to insects, I myself i'm burning and still you insects are getting attracted to
me for getting burned:
30: after seeing krishna s form he begs forgiveness again.These small deities are not small
the universal form is within them. Maya was like a big earthen pot which is filled with
mustard seeds each seed representing a universe. That is how all universes are floating in
the viraja river.
31: Mission of the lord is to destroy asadhus.
32 (Sir’s favorite verse) : When Krishna becomes angry everything will be finished. One of
the qualities of lord rama is the anger of lord directed at the person, he is finished. Nobody
can avoid the wrath of Krishna. The essence of this chapter is 11.33
33: Therefore get up and prepare to fight and win glory. (by heart this verse then you can
never forget Krishna). Understand what Krishna wants and do it. Become an instrument in
Krishna’s things that's it. Don't get attached to selfish goals, the universal form of Krishna will
burn you in its blazing fire.
34: We are responsible for our sinful behaviour not krishna
35, 36: Demons will always flee out of fear. Devotees will always see cooling moonshine.
Scorching sunshine will hit the demons.
37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42: Arjuna is seeking forgiveness.
43-45: Now Arjuna wants to see his original form and not virate form. Krishna will appear in
four handed form and then two handed form.
55- You will surely attain me he who engages in pure devotional service free from fruitive
reactions and mental speculation.

🎤Summary of Bhagavad Gita chapter wise to revise:

Essence of chapter8: Tasmat sarvesu kalesu mam anusmara yudhyasca
Chapter 9: man mana bhava mad bhakta mad yaji mam namaskuru-- meditate on krishna by
performing sankirtan, reading shastra , perform devotional service,..mad yaji--worship in
deity form mam namaskuru--offer obeisances daily. This is the whole KC movement.
Whatever we do in ISKCON is 9.34 (last verse of chapter 9)
Chapter 10: Once we know krishna as he is we will pick up proper devotional service.
Anybody able to present krishnas he is can make others to effectively take up dev. Service.
Chapter 11: You have to be made an instrument for any scheme of things Krishna has in his
mind. But in this age of kali chaitanya mahaprabhu needs all of us. We have to go out and
preach gauranga and nityananda then our life will be successful. If we know what Krishna
wants and we become the instrument naturally fame and happiness follow us. Otherwise we
get misery. Very important point we saw also is that this chapter unequivocally establishes
all the demigods are in the virata form only one who is doing is Krishna. That's why in 10
chapter its said Krishna is the immediate, intermediate and ultimate cause. Even devarshi
narada, shiva and brahma am\nd kumaras are not actors only krishna is actor.
🎤Devotional service is simple. You will offer respect to Krishna, when you recognize he
alone keeps you healthy. Dev. service means only one goal. Our only motivation is how
Krishna will be pleased. “ Man mana”-- When we hear bhagavad gita it is manmana. The

🎤Question: How to stay in mode of goodness despite the time of morning programme is
over?
Ans: One has to have a proper schedule.
5-6 hours-- morning programme
Professional activities (7-8 hours) are necessary. Raghunandana was engaged 24 hrs in
chanting and deity worship. Similarly bhavananda raya story they all fell flat at feet of
mahaprabhu. But Gopinatha was told you have a huge family. You people have to work ,
don’t cheat whatever you want to earn in an honest way. Sometimes you should know how
to drink poison if you want to marry. Otherwise if you wish to remain in a position of full time
service (sir gave examples of madhusudan pr and ajay gudla pr) accept it. But one can’t
remain in both.

🎤Sir was mentioning Bhagavad Gita course (in four languages (oriya, hindi, telugu, bengali

Notes on BG 12 chapter morning lecture by sir

We can remain by an instrument of Krishna by following the guidance of sadhu guru and
shastra. We associate with mantara like mind even while awake and sleep. This constant
association has ruined us. Hence, we have to make an adjustment that to associate with
sadhu guru and shastra instead.

Bhaktiyoga topic has been started from chapter 6 onwards. Basis of chapter 12 is Arjuna's
question if bhakti is better, that is meditating on krishna form or meditation on impersonal
form is better?

Ans: verse 9.2 is answer

🎤The process of impersonal form worship would lead to 7.19 (bahunam janmanam ante---
Krishna is the immediate, intermediate and ultimate cause, this understanding happens
when one meditates on impersonal brahman and follows austerity for many many life times
then he may go to godhead). For example: One can go to America by a cycle, four wheeler,
steamer or a ship or airplane. It is upto us to choose an option. Bhakti is robust full proof.
Krishna says if you can't perform pure devotional service also then I give an option. Krishna
is saying to fix intelligence on him. But if i don't have knowledge to fix my mind on me
without deviation. Then follow the regulative principles of bhakti and develop the desire to
attain me. Chant 16 rounds minimum, no meat eating, no intoxicaiton ,gambling and illicit
sex. If you can't practice regulative principles then work for me. By following instructions
from them who are following principles of pure dev. Service by serving them. Prpad says in
the purport, many devotees preaching KC are struggling (verse 9.10 purport). Hence please
come forward and assist in preaching. Eg: George harrison, Mr sethi in Juhu mumbai. One
should work for Krishna if one cant perfrom dev. Service. If you are not able to work for
Krishna, give the results of that work for Krishna. Even if you can't do this, engage in dhyana
yoga. Better than dhyana is jnana and better than that is giving results to krishna. Dhyana
yogi is attracted to mystic potencies, jnana yogi is attracted to transcendental jooy( 12.12
made everything clear).

Verse 13 onwards
Question is in the next seven verses What does one get when one performs bhakti: You are
doing bhakti means you are completely free from false ego you are tolerant and satisfied.
Self controlled, engaged in dev service with determination. I have to ask myself if i'm on this
platform.

Verse 15
The whole world knows the pastime of lord rama who was to be coronated but instead was
sent to 14 years exile. This is absolutely setting an example how to follow the guidelines of
lord. ABC’s of KC is there in Ram leela. In Krishna lila it's like tensor algebra very difficult to
understand. For us ram lila is very important.

Verse 16
Everyday we are waiting if there is any good news for me. The only way we should smile is
by practicing KC. In the morning once you get up is your mind fixed while chanting, ask this
question.
Did I get a new bungalow etc these are ordinary course of activities. We can't become happy
by ordinary course of activities.

Verse 17
Feeding people, distributing medicine is auspicious activities. Inauspicious activities are like
watching pornography etc. Srila prabhupad said that when you pass excreta on ground its
wet stool when its dried its called dry stool, that is the difference between auspicious and
inauspicious activities. The only big thing in this world is we congregate people and chant
Hare Krishna.

Verse 20
Those who perform unalloyed raganuga bhakti are the best. There is no selfish attitude.
Giving 100% to Krishna. The essence of 12 chapter is among all yogas what is the best?
Every yoga leads to KC but which is the best? Answer: is man mana bhava mad bhakto
🎤Here are some of sir’s nuances of hearing from Prabhupada: By hearing many lectures of
Prabhupada it becomes very clear what is dharma. Each one of us is born according to
specific nature and to act according to nature is the best that can happen. One is nature of
the spirit soul that is devotional and spirit soul carried in a body. How do you make a balance
between your occupational duty and your sanatana body? This is the biggest riddle of life.
Anybody who has solved it early his life is a sharp curve back to godhead.

🎤Who is the mantara with whom we are associating all through our life? Ans: my mind Here
is a story from Orissa when I was a school kid. This story is about lakshahira. There was a
brahman vishnudas, he was cursed to be a leper he had a devoted wife anasuya. This story
is famous in orissa as this played a role to inculcate chastity in women if women are not
chaste, society will get polluted. Nowadays nobody serves leper patients. If you become a
coronavirus patient then everybody deserts you. But here this lady served her husband with
full chastity and devotion taking all pain. Although this leper was nicely served everyday not
less than 10 items!! Still he is not happy? His husband was asked by his wife why you are
not happy despite this service. He told he wants one night with a society girl, Lakshaheera.
One has to spend 100000 diamond coins for a night with lakshaheera. Basically one
diamond coin is like 1 lakh. So its 1lakh * 1 lakh equals 1000 crores of rupees. Even the
richest man of nowadays can offer that money. We cant find such examples of lakshaheera
nowadays. When anasuya saw that, she planned since she cant bring one lakh diamond
coins. She went to lakshaheera’s place and served her nicely. She asked anasuya what she
wanted. When anasuya mentioned her husband because of chastity of anasuya she
accepted the offer. One day she (lakshaheera) prepared food and placed in two plates iron
and gold. And gave it to vishnudas. Vishnudas said both taste the same.

🎤Mind always thinks how to place old wine in new bottle. If you associate with your mind
there is worst calamity coming up. This is the biggest form of lakshaheera. People say if we
eat in gold plate I am happy. No, Prabhupad is saying, simply act on spiritual intelligence. If
you have spiritual intelligence one has to act on it. The moment Krishna is presented to us
as he is bhakti yoga becomes natural. You are not to be told to perform bhakti yoga. Nivrtta
tarsair upagiyamanat. when Krishna is presented as he is, all you have to do is become his
instrument.

🎤From chapters 6 to 12 we have covered the essence of bhakti yoga. We are fortunate to
have discussed all 6 chapters. How do we perform bhakti?
Know your sanatana nature and occupational nature and strike a balance.

🎤When we help our students to recognize what is their nature and select an occupational
duty according to their nature. Because earlier times we were a village based society where
a farmer's son would be a farmer, jeweller's son would be jeweller nowadays we have
destroyed that system by sheer ignorance. Now given your nature and sanatana dharma
how we should be engaged. One solution is we have to build a community where there will
be all four kinds of people. One doing hard labour, one intellectual, one who can donate
money, and one managing..

🎤How to give sufficient time for doing occupational duty for soul instead of occupational
dharma for body? This is done by following the instruction of the teacher. If we follow our
mind the occupational duty will become difficult.
🎤Tomorrow chapter 13 onwards. Today evening we will go through a difficult pastime of lord
rama where Kaikeyi forcefully banishes lord to Jungle. By suffering in this consciousness we
become purified. If you become a full time preacher that is best.

Notes based on Chapter 13 morning class by sir

🎤Verses 6-7 are essential verses. Chaitanya mahaprabhu quoted a famous verse from this
chapter “sarvatopanipadam..”. Its the most difficult chapter to digest. You need krishna
consciousness to be able to understand KC. Its the egg and chicken problem which is first?
The whole process of spiritual emancipation is the grace of Krishna. The entire song sri
krishna chaitanya prabhu doya karo moro we are looking for the grace of the devotees
association.
This is the sum total of the chapter. Lets see verses 6-7 the false ego, intelligence its not me.

🎤The unmanifested (avaykta), the 10 senses, sense objects, my desire, hatred, happiness
(not me). Scientists say there is an emerging behaviour thats not me. I am evacuating thats
also not me. Convictions eg, i am devotee, theist, marxist etc these are not me. This is my
body, once you know this is not me. If you are able to separate yourselves from five
elements, mind,
Intelligence. Sukadeva goswami says there is no difference between our breathing and
blacksmith’s bellows for anybody who is not acting on this platform is not in knowledge.

Text 3
Krishna says to know the body, to know yourself, to know supersoul all three constitute
knowledge. What is that knowledge? Once you know this, knowledge must be dear to me.

Text 8-12
Pridelssness, etc. if i am perceiving birth death oldage and disease then i am not in
knowledge. Steadiness means i am making gradual steady progress in understanding of
krishna. Renunciation of objects of sense gratification, lots of nice foodstuffs there but first
you have to ask if its prasadam. I live in this world but I am like padmapatra imam bhasa.
Those who want to enter grihasta ashram please read the torturous situation of dasaratha
kaikeyi encounter.
The so called auspiciousness and inauspiciousness are all sin. Natural attraction to Krishna
lila. Bhrgu is the emblem of brahmanas.
Aspiring to live in solitary place: living alone means switchoff your laptop and mobile except
when you hear lectures in morning and evening. Consumption of pornography has doubled
in india during coronavirus.
Accepting importance of self realization: we must continuously say I am trying to understand
Krishna, it is a continuous process. More you try, the more you realize that this is an
unending process. Even if its unending process knowing Krishna is a pleasurable process.
*Background *: knowing body, knowing what you are not (text 6 and 7) and supersoul
constitutes knowledge. How to build a conscious machine? Can build a machine with life
symptoms. Unfortunately we accept dead body as self.

Text1-3
Bhakti is performed in the plane of the grace of Krishna. Sahajiya bhakti: remaining on the
platform of the body we claim we are paramahamsas. Krishna is saying that the essence of
your question is presented in vedanta sutra. 8-12 (what is knowledge) 6-7 (what I am not?)

Next verse 13
We don't understand what Atman is. For atman taking cold bath, living in badrinath these are
very pleasurable.

Verse 14
I am always servant Krishna is master. Doesn't mean he is only localized but his hand and
legs are spread everywhere.

Verse 15-17
Supersoul is the origin of all senses. His interactions are beyond material space and time.
Whenever he wants he can manifest and unmanifest. He is beyond. (verse: mayahiyasya
jagadanda satani sute traigunya tat visaya veda vitayamanam sattva valambhi parasattvam
visuddhasatvam) he is always in visuddhasatvam although modes of material nature is his
creation. He is never divided although he divides himself unlimitedly. (verse: ekopyasau
racayitum jagadanda koti…andarastham paramanu chayantarastam) After 18 chapters a
class will be taken on brahmasamhita in a summary form.

Verse 18
Vadanti tat tattva vidas verse.What is non dual knowledge Krishna is simultaneously subject
and object. From the absolute truth perspective, the object and subject are the same. From
my perspective, the subject of knowledge is Krishna. The object of knowledge is also krishna
but there is a distinction--I am the servant and krishna is the master. From Krishna's
perspective there is no difference but. Mayavadis make a mistake here.

verse 19
To be able to distinguish atman, paramatman only devotees can do.

20,21
Nature is the cause of all material causes but jiva is responsible for sufferings.
(meditate on fthis verse of chapter 13) I am responsible for what this body provides me.
How am I responsible? My stubbornness to keep KC in a procrastinated mode. Our ability to
accept or associate with spiritual intelligence that will enable this body to give one kind of
results and the ability to use this body for sense gratification gives another kind of result.

People are locked down. Their attachments are tablets, mobiles, pornography etc
Automatically people would have read gita and become yogis if locked down happened in
the 80's etc.

23-25
Everything I am doing lord is the witness you can't escape. I am absolutely naked infront of
lord.
I am watched in a way I can't feel I am being watched. Come to a state where I can feel I am
being watched. If every moment of life you feel that supersoul is watching then you can
quickly make progress in spiritual life. Anybody who is able to make a distinction between
material modes, living entity and supersoul then at time of death once doesn't take birth
again here.

If Krishna is presented as he is, people will start practicing.

Manifestation of moving and non moving happens by modes of material nature, jiva and
supersoul. Everywhere these three things are there.

28-32
Soul is never the doer whether I am in a conditioned or liberated stage.
Those yogis, srila prabhupada although they are in body they didn't mix themselves with
body.

Final verse:
Through spiritual intelligence i must conquer my mind from all devouring lust.
Tabulate all the aspects of knowledge. We must hanker for knowledge (8-12). Recently
Discussions are happening to keep religion away from dealing with coronavirus. Let only
scientists deal with it. This is another ignorance. For me knowledge of gita is more important.
We have a lot of viruses already like AIDS. Its just ignorant people and the masses are in a
psyche of fear due to the virus. Of Course we have to recognize that most of so called
religious people are foolish. But KC is not a religion, it provides knowledge, makes me
humble, free from sense gratification, and seek help from spiritual master. Methodologies of
modern science don't make us humble or be in knowledge. Knowledge starts when you can
know you know nothing.

🎤Jnana yogi doesn't have knowledge of supersoul. Bhakti Yoga when sincerely practised
helps us transcend 3 modes and gradually transported to gates of vaikuntha.

Question: Some people perform devotional service out of faith and some people perform out
of knowledge what is the difference?

Everybody must know what is knowledge, otherwise we tread in the plane of sahajiyaism
.The biggest threat to vaishnavism by sahajiyas not mayavadism. Rabindranath tagore is a
sahajiya( baula or aula sampradaya) who was a nobel laureate. This is the problem. In
bengal so called PhD and intellectuals smoking drinking and womanizing and singing nadia
kirtan. That's why unless guided by spiritual intelligence given in gita its so called bhakti is
utpataeva kalpate.
🎤The essence of chapter 13 is anybody who knows the knower and body is situated in
knowledge. There are two knowers: self and supersoul. Body is different from self and
superself. What is body is described in verses 6,7. Nature (body), one has separated himself
from body and he sees super soul as master he has knowledge (Verse 8-12). If I am able to
make distinction between me, supersoul and modes of material nature then I am
knowledgeable.

🎤We have to work on the items of devotional service( man mana bhava ..). Then
tattenukampan susameeksamano...grace will come in course of time according to krishna’s
decision not my decision.

🎤7.20 purport 3rd line: With material contamination we seek sanga of non devotees. Thats
why tesam tvantagatam papam--you give little place to sin in the heart, it spreads like
coronavirus. Skin disease if you itch a little bit it spreads further. The moment I meditate on
sin then I will get hooked on to sin. Even if 10% of life is KC, focus on that and evolve.
Amanitvam, adambitvam is knowledge when I am liberated. I am in knowledge, when I am in
knowledge it makes me spontaneously attracted to krishna that is knowledge.

🎤Everybody must be situated in their nature and based on that take up service. What is that
we need to know as far as the body is concerned? You need to realize that everything
produced out of this body we are not the actor. Body is producing some activity which I am
not the doer. Soul is responsible for happiness and distress. For suffering modes of nature
are not responsible. Although the body produces activities because of force of modes of
material nature they are not happening randomly. There is a very purpose to this action. So
action can awaken me to my immediate goal of separating myself from my body. What is a
body? The way doctors like to understand we are not interested in that kind of analysis. We
are interested in analysis of the body and how not to assume myself as doer. Happiness is
10% and distress 90% whenever I act. In sankhya philosophy, the body can be analysed in
terms of elements, cognitive processes etc. All that we have to know is that I am not the
doer. Heart is continuously pumping, we have no control. We understand little about the
body and staying away from actorship is the essence. It is better that I observe myself and
possess sastracakshu to abstain myselves. Only actions you do are your regular
associations with dev. service. If you keep a daily balance aside from professional life, how
to give time to the cultivation of spiritual life diligently that is your action.

🎤Difference between instrument and doer? Instrument means guided by spiritual

Intelligence and doer means guided by ignorance. Krishna says patram puspam phalam
toyam you do like that it is an instrument. What is not told by Krishna if you are doing it is like
being a doer.

Notes on today’s morning lecture i.e. Chapter 14 of gita by sir

🎤Truth and knowledge are inseparable. We don't remain in knowledge because of bodily
attachment. Kunti maharani was praying for krishna’s grace to detach herself from both
(pandusu and vrsnisu familial attachments)

🎤This body is nothing but a combination of 3 modes of material nature. Based on

association we can steady the dominant mode to be goodness. Urges of our body: to enjoy
sex (vaco vegam manasa krodha vegam jihva vegam udaropastha vegam) These urges will
be there we can minimize the urges by remaining in mode of goodness. Our nature can be in
the class of intellectual or service powder. Imagine a doctor with mode of ignorance how can
one provide service. Everyone should be in mode of goodness, In that mode we are situated
in knowledge.

🎤We attain mode of goodness by practicing continuously Krishna consciousness, engaging

in deity worship, taking prasadam in mode of goodness. We may say prasadam is
transcendental but see the kind of bhoga offered in Puri. They know the mode of goodness
food. Normally in iskcon mode of passion prasada! Leafy vegetables, juice, fruits we should
offer to Krishna and take them as prasadam. Tongue is addictive but it should be krishnaized
while consuming prasadam with mode of goodness foods.

🎤We must recognize mode of goodness. In mode of goodness the bed should be very
clean. We should not sleep in a dirty place. One mat and one bedsheet (pair of bedsheets
used alternatively) would give you mode of goodness environment. We have hardly any
notion of cleanliness. We put on same dress for 7 days!! As many times we take bath and
put clean garments. Garments should be simple eg. dhoti and kurta.
Defending means we should be out to depend on Krishna. We seek out Krishna’s protection
by hearing Gita, ram katha and preaching. By devotee association we seek Krishna's
protection. 99.9% of us lead a life of a congregation devotee, that means we are earning
somewhere. But if you take up a job in mode of ignorance it is very difficult (eg: travelling
jobs where four hours atleast spent in travelling). Our devotees are recommended to take
teaching profession. Some other job also very good like becoming doctors and nurses. The
one of the very important profession people should take up is farming and maintaining
goshala, i.e. remain in mode of goodness.

🎤Prabhupad opposed factory based jobs it brings one to mode of ignorance.

🎤14.26 by performing bhakti we transcend three modes. Bhakti helps us to transcend three
modes. Normally mode of good ness is associated with brahman. Brahman rests as
impersonal rays on body of krishna. In conclusion, meditation on Krishna's personal feature
can help us transcend modes.
Jiva is by nature brahman and impregnated into modes of material nature. Artificially
because of our revolt against Krishna we are forced to be conditioned to three modes

🎤Bhakti yoga ( man mana bhava mad bhakta mad yaji mam namaskuru these four
completely defines bhakti yoga) When we perform bhakti without interruption we obtain
grace of krishna and that grace lifts us from ocean of mundanity of ocean of divinity.

🎤14.27
By strong practice of austerity and knowledge then I can attain brahman. Jnana and dhyana
yoga in the preliminary level doesnt talk of service to krishna. Krishna is saying i am the
basis of brahman so give up the notion of impersonal brahman and worship me.

Krishna is an infinite personality and he can satisfy unlimited jivas. Conclusion of chapter 14
three modes of nature even staying in goodness that should not be our goal. We must go to
mode of goodness. Our dinacharya should be conditioned in mode of goodness for good
practice. But for pure goodness we have to perform bhakti. By performing bhakti immediately
we attain our transcendental nature. Somewhere ignorance is lurking and it takes me into
absolute delusion. Krishna is saying even if I am in mode of ignorance by performing bhakti
we get into mode of goodness

From 3rd verse onwards

Before creation we were in the body of mahavishnu. Just like fire emits sparks we are the
sparks lying impregnated in the material nature. These sparks are either in brahman state or
want to revolt against Krishna, hence they are forced to material nature by the glance of
mahavishnu carried by lord siva and he embraces that glance with mother nature and gives
rise to 8.4 million bodies. Krishna is the seed giving father. We are his eternal part and
parcel. Krishna is the absolute brahman but he is also a transcendental person. These two
verses tell us we don't belong to material nature. The chemical origin of life is a misnomer.
The very consciousness, the need for material consciousness to manifest in this world is the
spiritual consciousness. Spiritual consciousness is the property of atma. When spiritual
consciousness is thrown on material nature then that should also be conscious. Because of
our association in many life times, sometimes we have to put on a dress of stone, plant. If
you are in mode of goodness, you take birth as demigod, If you are situated in passion, you
take birth among fruitive workers, in ignorance take birth among animals.

Srsthi sthiti pralaya sadhana saktir eka, chayeva yasya…..

The personification of three modes is mother durga. She is instrumental in making
variegated dresses.

Verse 6-8
The mode of passion makes us suffer from our desires. Sir used to read books and sleep
whole day inside the house while staying in a remote village. And during yield time sir goes
to field (but during summer and rainy we only stay inside the house) All we could do is either
read books or sleep.

Verse9,10
If you're in class now, everything goes nice. But if you disconnect then you get into mode of
ignorance. Sleep nicely till 10 o'clock. Enjoy sleep in the morning that's the worst thing that
can happen. People should follow then only you can get rid of three modes. There is a
competition among modes and who wins is based on the association. If within our subtle
body mode of ignorance is residing it is just like a lion. The force in the subtle body is very
powerful and uncontrollable. Simply by planning our KC life and becoming KC and following
regulative principles of vaidhi bhakti we can get rid of mode of ignorance. Eg: When XXX pr
was told to do only bhakti he was feeling sleepy but if he was told to prepare for GRE he/she
felt energetic. Very few pursue spiritual dream for eg: Madhusudan pr and ajay gudla pr.

Verse 13
In lockdown period people are drinking spirit and dying as they are not getting alcohol being
addicted to it. Suppose somebody is touched by alcohol and meat that cant be used for KC.
This meat and alcohol they create such an ignorant atmosphere there anybody can be
destroyed by that.

Verse 14,15,16
Next birth as demigod from mode of goodness. From mode of goodness knowledge
develops. Mode of goodness is must to be associated for bhakti. Bhakti without catalyst of
mode of goodness is not effective.

Verse 17
Utthanupada (became king and had two sons) and priyavrata both are sons of svayambhuva
manu. After their generation nobody was there to lead the kingdom. Brahma told Priyavrat to
come and lead the kingdom. Nobody is telling us to earn money. Greed is devouring don't
earn money if you are not told to. Eg: in germany, a gujarati (full-time devotee) gave up
association to earn money. Why should I sacrifice my spiritual fortune for this mundane
world. That's a suicidal one. Atah pumsa dvija shreshata varnasrama vibhagasa...whatever
you do if your actions are not pleasing to krishna it's all waste.

Verse 19 to 25
Anybody who is able to see that either mode of goodness passion ignorance is animating
our body, he knows supreme lord who is transcendental he attains krishna. When you are an
actor you will be repressed. This won't help you but the taste of KC will help them. The
books in early times of sir's KC at iit kanpur, are books of repressing senses to control night
fall etc. Mode of goodness passion ignorance will disturb you. What should disturb you is
you are not making enough endeavour to become paramdrstva. We had a plan to go to
mayapur in may start but couldn't hold it.

🎤Krishna has been asked in which symptom we know we have transcended three modes.
He sees stone and gold with an equal piece of eye. If after practicing KC you are not able to
see earth, stone and gold with an equal piece of eye probably you are making a mistake.
Being in knowledge and being beyond three modes is same. Take risk for service of Krishna.
Krishna will provide you whatever you need in your service. Three modes of material nature
teaches us an important point to be able to situate in knowledge we must practice KC in
mode of goodness. Majority of us practice KC in lower modes keeping/eating with dirty
habits. Our eating mating sleeping and defending should be in mode of goodness then we
attain spiritual nature. Even if a drunkard thinks the taste of alcohol is krishna he makes
progress but doesn't mean i go to that level to practice!!

🎤Question: Lot of passion characterized by business towards a field of activities? In

goodness can we remain busy?

*Ans; passion makes you restless and not busy. Real busy is srila prabhupada. He is really
busy. Everyday writing letters, books, guiding devotees managing worldwide affairs. Passion
is not busy, it is restlessness. Everyday if you want to get up in the morning and chant hare
Krishna's mind gets restless. That's why if you are in mode of goodness in the morning you
will be able to chant. Many are sleeping early in the morning. How can one make progress in
spiritual life? If we are chanting but still in mode of ignorance, passion then it will not help. If
you do CBT at night did your early morning chanting improve or not? Practice the overnight
CBT sir is sending and confirm if it helped us to improve chanting in the morning. *

🎤If you take the spiritual intelligence you will be worried why you are sleeping.

🎤Can a person leading the construction site for example should/must always be in mode of
passion?
Ans: One thing is service and another is how you condition yourself. Suppose you are
incharge of organic farming. Labour working will have to do hard work. They have to be
passionate enough to do that work. That is alright but you as the guide can't lead yourself
into that mode of passion. They must be guided. Why brahmins are the head of society
because they are in mode of goodness. Actions are guided by brahminical principles. Those
who are doing business they must be guided by brahminical principles. Beyond 6-7 hours of
labour work they must be engaged in activities pertaining to being composed in mode of
goodness.

🎤Arjuna fought in mode of passion. But his passion was completely guided by Krishna's
memory recognizing it as a service. Business means passion and ignorance. But you
prescribe to take daily prasadam, and go to temple. We give recreational opportunities to
business people by feasting on wonderful prasadam and dancing with people. There has to
be a balance between nature and higher nature. That's why brahmins are the head of the
society.

Today evening Chaitanya mahaprabhu pastime of visiting Vrindavan. Mahaprabhu said he
alone will go at max with one assistant. Vrindavan is the highest estimate of absolute truth.
To enter into it is not easy. Two chapters from ramayana followed by chaitanya lila in

*Notes on Chapter 15 Bhagavad Gita morning class by sir*

🎤*Purushottama yoga* is the summary of chapter 6 to 14. Because chapter 14 says you
have to transcend 3 modes it is being talked about in verses 1 to 6. After that whatever
krishna talks about himself is summarized. Chapter 7,8,9 krishna talks about himself and in
10 more elaborately in 11 krishna says he is the only doer chapter 12 upadrasta anumanta
he is the only purusa. If you look at that the objective of all yogas is to know Krishna. To
know Krishna we have to overcome three modes. Even if I hear about Krishna, it doesn’t
penetrate into my heart. Two things; the presenter presenting properly and the audience
must be ready. If topics of Krishna are presented properly naturally one performs devotional
service.
Crores of years of penance and austerity can be mitigated by hearing from pure devotees of
Krishna. People couldn't speak in a global space like prabhupada about krishna. For
example: Sir, I was attracted to Krishna from my teacher despite all the problems going on in
this world still I am still continuing.

🎤When we practice dev. Service three modes create variety of problems. Still the devotee
engages in Krishna consciousness. Still I surrender to sadhu, in a very efficient manner you
are able to do that and that decides how much you are free from three modes of material
nature. All difficulties are there, senses are troubling me, body and my mind troubling me,
my friends are troubling me, but ultimately I am fixed in chanting Hare Krishna.

🎤Chapter 15 is a nice summary of all 14 chapters. This is an extended summary.

Chatushloki is a brief summary.

*Text 1*
Krishna is talking about Phenomenal world or world of experience. This experience in this
world is a reflection of pure experience. You are always enlightened by pure experience. The
reflection is gross sexual pleasure. You also enjoy it. But by enjoying sex, we lose memory,
intelligence and sometimes suffer from AIDS.
What is highest in the material world is lowest in the spiritual world and vice versa.
Ans: Root is lowest in real and branches are highest. What is that in the experiential world
that becomes highest in the spiritual world.

Brahmasukha highest and extra marital affair is lowest everybody will accept here.
Brahmasukha is lowest there (in spiritual world). Highest (in spiritual world) is the
relationship between girlfriends of krishna and krishna. This world of experience is just the
opposite of spiritual experience.

*Text2,3,4* is further elaboration

This world of experience whose root is so big must be cut by the sword of knowledge. Then
we can be elevated to the real world. The material world is not understood philosophically
even by many devotees. To be able to cut off the low level experience and constantly seek
experience of the spiritual world. Those who constantly seek the experience of the spiritual
world are only granted visa.

*Text 5* is sir’s most favourite verse (2006-07 onwards there was a phase wherever sir used
to go he speaks about this verse.)
Those three to four days sir said he stayed in germany all the words of the sloka are
pertinent. “Adhyatma nitya” means I am eternally existing. It is not so easy to be in adhyatma
nitya. When ,my prime motivation is temporary thing how can I be in adhyatma nitya stage.
To recognize the mundane experience of this phenomenal world and going beyond the
mundane world seeking experience of spiritual world. Jita sanga dosa “conquered bad
association--those who are in locked down period only use your mobile during the lecture
otherwise switch it off”. When you do adhyatma nitya I have conquered asat sanga, I am
freed from both false prestige and illusion and I enter into field of adhyatma nitya. And the
status is vinivratta kama. In that stage there is no lust. What you are experiencing as
adhyatma nitya is only you experience. Such intelligent people easily attain Krishna’s abode.
Upto 5 verse is about what is material world and how to get out of it. 6 th verse onwards its
all about krishna.

*Text 6*
Krishna has his own transcendental abode beyond experience of this world. There exists the
world of transcendental experience and that of real world. In the world of illusory experience
we the part and parcel of Krishna are struggling with our illusory mind where as in the world
of transcendental experience thats where we engage in pure devptional Service to krishna.

*Text 7*
In this world our actions create new body.
*Text 8*
Principle is same everybody has some locomotion and the senses.

*Text 10*
Like the worm inside stool cant go outside territory of stool. Once sacinandan maharaj was
telling, a fly jumped inside stool (all senses filled with stool). Once it gets into a room of
spiritual fragrance he cant perceive anything spiritual!!

*Text 11*

In this world there are mundane as well as spiritual experiences.

*12,13*
Krishna says all planets are floating because of him. Krishna says i am the moon without
which no vegetation.
*Text 14*
Four kinds of foods (chewing, licking , swallowing, drinking) are digested by Krishna as
digestive fire.

*Text 15* (second verse memorized by sir in iit delhi after *2.13*)
Krishna is the compiler of veda. He is supposed to be known through veda. He compiles
veda so that people can know him. All vedas are there to know Krishna. From Krishna
comes remembrance, forgetfulness and knowledge. A topic is presented from different
angles.
Sir told he had only spoken about Krishna in IIM Indore and students complained of it as sir
was always saying Krishna instead of social welfare activity drawn from gita.

*Text 16*
From this verse you can see that chapter 15 is a summary of all chapter 1-14. There is a
nitya baddha and nitya mukta. There is a material world and spiritual world.

*Text 18*
That's why ram lila is easier for us.

*Text 19*
The moment you understand Krishna as the best personality, the supreme enjoyer. Your
spirit is one to talk, glorify about Krishna.

*Text20*
There is a material world and spiritual world. Whatever highest here is lowest there and vice
versa. Whatever both worlds are sustained by Krishna.

This can end with a pastime of maharashtrian brahmin and mahaprabhu. Mahapr said I can
give the holy name for free but people are not ready to pay the price. The price is “*nirmana
moha jita sanga dosa adhyatma nitya vinivrta kama*”. He said the people of Benaras are not
ready to pay the price for it.

When you value anything temporary you are not in a state of adhyatma nitya. In the last
chapter it's said as long as I am seeking lower taste I am not adhyatma nitya. When I am
giving importance for valuing the material experience then I am *not adhyatma nitya*.

🎤*Brahmasukha* means we are *free of sex desire*, in our culture that is considered
highest.
What is the lowest form of pleasure in this material world? Sex pleasure so called highest
pleasurable here when done outside of marriage is considered highly abominable.

🎤*What is service?* Devotees they represent (each devotee represents a specific quality or
desire of krishna, this is spiritual monism, each devotee for ex: vasudev datta represents
mahaprabhu’s quality of compassion, dev. Service means you become an instrument of
krishna). We do practice and when we perfect it becomes natural.

🎤Sex in material world is exploitation while in spiritual world it is transcendental. In the

spiritual world Krishna is the only purusha and we are all enjoyed. *Brahmasukha is lowest in
the spiritual world because it is neutral and based on rasa you go higher and higher.
Conjugal rasa (parakiya rasa) is highest.*
