Type ICX Interchangeable Cutout

15-38 kV Outdoor Distribution Cutout

Product Bulletin 1VAG271201-DB
Description
Product Features The ABB ICX interchangeable cutout is used on overhead distribution
• 15, 27, or 38 kV systems to provide overcurrent protection and visible indication of fuse
operation. The ICX provides a visible break sectionalizing point for
• 110, 125, 150, 180, or 200 kV BIL maintenance personnel and is equipped with hooks to use with a
portable loadbreak tool. This allows the ICX to be used as a loadbreak
switch to open the circuit with load current flowing.
• 100 A, 200 A Fused
Silicone or Polymer Concrete insulators, Emission Control Devices
• 300 A Disconnect Blade (ECDs), Seacoast design, cutout/arrester combinations, and Autolink
options are available on certain models.
• Porcelain, Silicone, or Polymer Concrete
Insulators Available Ratings
The ICX cutout is offered in three frame sizes and five BIL ratings.
• Seacoast Design Each of the frames accommodates fuseholders with various ratings.
ICX ratings are 110 kV through 200 kV BIL.
• ECD (Emission Control Device)
Application
• Cutout/Arrester Combo The ICX 100 A fuse is provided with a moisture proof tube as a stan-
dard offering. Cutouts perform by expelling gases during interruption
• Kick-out Spring from the bottom of the fuse tube. For the highest interrupting rating, a
link extender rod is attached to the fuse tube cap, improving the effi-
ciency of gas expulsion and arc interruption. Fuse tubes with more than
one rating are clearly labeled to indicate each interrupting capability.
This minimizes the number of styles that must be stocked, while pro-
viding the broadest range of application flexibility.

Interchangeability
The ICX cutout is designed to be electrically and mechanically inter-
changeable with the S&C type “XS”, A.B. Chance type “C”, and Cooper
type “L” cutouts. Fuseholder caps are also interchangeable with the
S&C design. Testing has confirmed the performance of the ICX fuse-
holder and fuse support with S&C and Chance.

arrester combination The ICX cutout meets or exceeds all applicable requirements of EEI,
NEMA SG-2-1986, and ANSI C37.41.1994 and C37.42-1989 standards.
