Title: Education to the Unfortunate

2. Objectives:
 To offer educational services to out of school youth and individuals who have not finished their
elementary or secondary education.
 To promote the importance of education and learning in today’s society
3. Rationale:
 Background: The Philippine society has always its importance on the basic education of its citizen
so much so that most jobs, even the menial ones, require at least some educational attainment
in order to be accepted and hired. And yet, due to the ever increasing cost of living, most people
in the Philippines are poor and cannot afford to enroll and study in school which makes earning a
living even harder.
 Significance: The offering of such services to these individuals will open more opportunities for
them to find a job, earn a living and succeed in life. And such achievements of these individuals
will inspire other people to strive to learn and study so that they may someday have the same
opportunities.
 Stakeholders: Cebu Institute of Medicine-Alpha Mu Sigma Phi, out of school youth individuals,
Cebu Institute of Medicine, Department of Education
4. Proposed Program:
 Coordinate with the Department of Education and Cebu Institute of Medicine administration to
offer Sunday school lessons, to be held in Cebu Institute of Medicine’s classroom, using the
Alternative Learning System curriculum offered by the Department of Education.
 Volunteers from CIM-AMSP will teach modules under the curriculum offered by the Alternative
Learning System corresponding to each grade level.
 CIM-AMSP will be responsible to keep track and update the educational progress of all students
that enrolled to the Sunday school offered to the Department of Education.
 The Department of Education will notify and confirm CIM-AMSP once student has finished the
curriculum set for each grade level, so that he/she may move on the next grade level or is now
eligible for graduation elementary or high school level.
5. Conclusion:
One can never stress the importance of education. Through education, one learns the desire to
study and through learning, one can eliminate ignorance and misconceptions. In the Philippine
society, most of its problems stem from ignorance and misconceptions and this is due to the fact
that most of its population are uneducated due to financial restrictions. Through this program,
we can help alleviate the problems of our society by offering such education to these
unfortunate individuals. And that through education, one may instill to these individuals the
importance studying and understanding a problem first.
